This role combines people management, engineering excellence, and delivery ownership into a single, accountable leader responsible for turning business priorities into high-quality, scalable solutions. Owning delivery outcomes and the development of technical talent, the Engineering Delivery Manager ensures work is delivered predictably, built to high standards, and aligned with Exclaimer's transformation and growth strategy.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnd-to-End Delivery Ownership\nOwn the full delivery lifecycle, including backlog from scoping through to post-deployment support.\nAlign team backlogs, priorities, and capacity with Business Operations objectives.\nEnsure delivery practices promote transparency, predictability, and value-based outcomes.\nProactively manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across technical and business teams.\nEnsure delivery outcomes translate into measurable business impact, not just shipped work.\nTeam Leadership & Performance Management\nLine manages Salesforce Admins, Developers and QA, or adjacent delivery roles.\nOwn and report on OKRs and KPIs relevant to engineering and delivery performance.\nBuild a high-performing, psychologically safe team culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.\nBalance delivery demands with sustainable workload and team wellbeing.\nOwn resourcing, onboarding, capability development, and succession planning for the team.\nStakeholder Communication & Collaboration\nTranslate complex delivery progress into clear updates for business and transformation leaders.\nWork closely with Business Partners, Solutions Architect, and Business Analysts to align priorities and expectations.\nFacilitate cross-team planning and communication to reduce silos and increase transparency.\nEscalate blockers early with solutions-focused dialogue across stakeholders.\nEngineering Excellence & Standards\nOwn and enforce SDLC standards including CI/CD, testing practices, code reviews, environments, and documentation.\nChampion scalable, secure, and maintainable engineering practices across all solutions.\nPartner closely with the Solutions Architect to ensure alignment with architectural standards and integration patterns.\nIdentify, prioritise, and actively reduce technical debt rather than allowing it to accumulate.\nPromote continuous technical improvement and pragmatic innovation.\n Agile & Delivery Practices\nUse delivery metrics (throughput, cycle time, predictability, quality) to inform planning and improvement.\nFacilitate effective sprint planning, retrospectives, and prioritisation forums that lead to tangible change.\nAct as the single accountable owner for delivery progress, risks, and outcomes.\nSkills and Experience\nThis is a Salesforce-specific delivery role. Candidates must have substantial, hands-on experience of the Salesforce platform, its architecture and its tooling. General delivery management experience without a Salesforce background will not be sufficient.\nSalesforce experience (essential)\nExperience as a delivery manager, technical lead, release manager or equivalent on a large, multi-team Salesforce org (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and/or Experience Cloud).\nDeep working knowledge of the Salesforce platform structure: the data model (objects, fields, relationships), security and sharing model (profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules), declarative automation (Flow, validation rules) and custom development (Apex, Lightning Web Components).\nProven ownership of the Salesforce release lifecycle: sandbox and environment strategy, source control, change sets and metadata deployments, and CI/CD using Salesforce DX and tooling such as Copado, Gearset or Flosum.\nExperience enforcing Salesforce engineering standards, including Apex test coverage, code review, governor limit awareness, regression and UAT practices, and the management of Salesforce technical debt.\nExperience delivering Salesforce integrations and data work, including REST/SOAP APIs, middleware or MuleSoft, data migration, and data quality.\nExperience line managing Salesforce Admins, Developers and QA analysts, and planning their capacity around release cycles, including Salesforce's seasonal releases.\nWorking knowledge of Salesforce backlog and delivery tooling, such as Jira or Azure DevOps, alongside Salesforce reporting and dashboards for delivery metrics.\nLeadership and delivery skills\nProven experience leading cross-functional technical teams delivering complex Salesforce implementations, enhancements, or transformation initiatives.\nStrong people management capability with a track record of developing and retaining high-performing engineers.\nDeep understanding of engineering best practices and delivery frameworks, with the ability to apply them pragmatically.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.\nData-driven, delivery-focused, and comfortable making trade-offs in fast-moving environments.\nSalesforce certifications\nEssential: Salesforce Certified Administrator.\nHighly desirable: Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder and Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I.\nHighly desirable: Salesforce Certified Agile Accredited Professional.\nDesirable: Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant and/or Service Cloud Consultant, Salesforce Certified Business Analyst, or Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II.\nAt Exclaimer, we’re proud to offer a benefits package that reflects our commitment to supporting you professionally, personally, and wherever life takes you. \nAlongside competitive pay, you’ll have access to generous paid time off, flexible working options including our XFlex programme and a “work from anywhere” allowance - plus enhanced leave for all new parents, regardless of gender, family structure, or path to parenthood.
