troubleshoot failures, remediate defects, and improve automated validation to ensure secure, reliable behavior.\nMaintain clear documentation, including setup notes, design summaries, prompt/spec notes, user instructions, and operational runbooks.\nActively contribute to and facilitate code reviews, demos, testing sessions, backlog discussions, and team learning activities.\nPerforms other duties as assigned\nComplies with all policies and standards\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nNo supervisory responsibilities.\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience; or\nEquivalent combination of education and experience.\n Experience\nExperience of software engineering, data science, automation, or related technical work\nExperience with cloud, AI systems, and application security.\nExperience administering or building IT systems\nExperience working in Agile environments and using ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA, JSM).\nHands-on experience developing or deploying security AI agents on at least one major cloud AI platform, with strong preference for Amazon Bedrock AgentCore (Runtime, Identity, Gateway, Memory, or Observability components) \nUnderstanding of agentic identity concepts - how non-human/agent identities differ from human identities, and how to scope authorization for autonomous systems\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nRequired:\nFoundational programming ability in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or a similar language, demonstrated through coursework or projects.\nGeneral understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures, APIs, Git, debugging, testing, and documentation.\nIntroductory knowledge of AI, machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, or data science concepts through coursework, projects, or self-directed learning.\nAbility to learn and apply approved AI-assisted development tools responsibly, with review and coaching from senior team members.\nAbility to quickly acquire new knowledge, apply critical thinking, maintain attention to detail, and ask insightful questions to resolve uncertainty in requirements or technical approaches.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain work, document decisions, and collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates.\nAbility to apply principles of responsible AI, data privacy, information security, and ethical technology practices in day-to-day work.\nKnowledge of general IT applications and infrastructure.\nKnowledge of IAC, SDLC, Ci/Cd pipelines.\nGeneral understanding of Information Security principles.\nTravel Requirements\n0% No Travel Required\n#LI-EZ1\nLocation: Alameda, CA\n\nRange for this position: $144,000 - $182,000\n\nThe base pay offered will take into account job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan.
