The Franchise Analytics Director is expected to have strong understanding of critical business issues including product performance and drivers and lead work processes, guide analyses, and collaborate extensively with partner groups within and outside of the Commercial Organization. This role is a crucial strategic thought partner to key internal stakeholders throughout the organization.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES\nIndependently execute complex projects involving secondary data analytics and reporting including business performance tracking, competitive analysis, digital and other promotion effectiveness, resource allocation, segmentation, and targeting.\nSupport / lead the evolution of omnichannel analytics / reporting.\nOwn and guide the use of advanced analytics methodologies such as predictive analytics and AI to uncover novel insights and actions.\nApply / guide usage of analytical techniques to diverse pharmaceutical data sources to address business needs and questions.\nTranslate data and complex analytics into easily consumable and actionable business insights and recommendations, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.\nAssess the effectiveness of promotional efforts, projects, and practices and identify opportunities to optimize value of investments.\nUse data-driven methodologies to segment markets and identify target customer groups for tailored marketing campaigns.\nSupport / lead the quarterly demand forecast process including forecast assumption updates, reporting, and forecast variance analyses.\nPartner with IT to develop BI solutions to work processes.\nPartner with internal groups (Data Ops, Market Access, IT) to resolve and understand drivers behind trends and data anomalies.\nBuild peer support and strong internal relationships with colleagues.\nPerforms other duties as assigned\nComplies with all policies and standards\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nNo supervisory responsibilities.\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in related discipline and 13 years of related experience; or,\nMaster’s degree in related discipline and 11 years of related experience; or,\nEquivalent combination of education and experience.\n Experience\nStrong understanding and hands-on experience analyzing large pharmaceutical data sets (specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, claims, Xponent) using advanced statistical techniques is required\nExperience in data analytics in biotech / pharmaceutical industry is required \nExperience in forecasting is highly desirable\nExperience with patient flow modelling techniques is highly desirable\nExperience with oncology and product launches is preferred\nPrior consulting experience is preferred\nExperience with EHR data is a plus\nVendor oversight experience is a plus\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nRequired:\nKnowledge of different forecasting techniques (top-down forecast, trending etc.) and analytics related to biotech/pharma industry\nAbility to frame critical business questions, identify information needs to answer those questions, and determine where to best search for information sources\nDemonstrated ability to properly structure and conduct analyzes\nComfortable with ambiguity and able to devise creative analytic solutions to open-ended business questions\nEffective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written\nExcellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skills\nAbility to thrive in a fast-evolving environment\nProficiency with Office products (Excel, PPT) and SQL is required\nAbility to work independently and work on multiple projects simultaneously\nTravel Requirements\n10% Travel for conferences / organizational meetings as needed - 15% travel \nLocation: Alameda, CA\n\nRange for this position: $252,000 - $320,000\n\nThe base pay offered will take into account job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts.
