For more information, visit www.exlservice.com.\nRole Title:Finance Business Analyst\nBU/Segment: EXL Digital and AI / Insurance\nLocation: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid working 4 days a week in the office)\nEmployment Type: Permanent or Umbrella Contractor to start as soon as possible\nSummary of the role:\n\nEXL is seeking a Functional Business Analyst - Finance Transformation to join our Digital and AI team in London.\nThis is a hands-on role for someone with a strong finance and accounting background who can bridge the gap between Finance, business stakeholders and technology teams. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of core finance processes, combined with practical experience supporting finance transformation and system implementation initiatives.\nYou will work with stakeholders to understand existing finance processes, gather and translate business requirements and support the design and implementation of improved processes and technology solutions.\nAs part of your duties, you will be responsible for:\nWork with Finance and business stakeholders to understand current processes, requirements, challenges and opportunities for improvement. \nGather, analyse and document functional and business requirements for finance transformation initiatives. \nTranslate Finance requirements into clear functional requirements for technology and implementation teams. \nSupport the design and implementation of new finance processes, systems and technology solutions. \nMap as-is and to-be processes, identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation and automation. \nSupport system implementation activities including requirements definition, process design, testing and business readiness. \nWork closely with Finance, Technology, Data and other stakeholders throughout transformation initiatives. \nSupport User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenarios, issue identification and resolution. \nIdentify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve Finance processes, productivity and decision-making. \nApply tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude and other Generative AI technologies to practical business and Finance use cases. \nProduce clear process documentation, functional specifications, requirements and supporting project materials. \nSupport effective stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle and ensure business requirements remain aligned with delivered solutions.\nQualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:\nStrong experience as a Functional Business Analyst, Business Analyst or Finance Transformation Analyst.\n\nStrong understanding of Finance and Accounting processes and how Finance functions operate.\n\nA recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA/CA or CIMA is highly desirable. Candidates with a strong accounting background and relevant experience will also be considered.\n\nDemonstrable experience working on finance transformation programmes or initiatives.\n\nHands-on experience supporting system implementations, ideally within a Finance environment.\n\nExperience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements and translating these into practical solutions.\n\nStrong process mapping, requirements analysis and stakeholder management skills.\n\nExperience supporting testing, UAT and implementation activities.\n\nPractical experience using Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude within Finance or a broader business environment.\n\nAbility to identify practical opportunities where AI, automation and technology can improve Finance processes and ways of working.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across both Finance and Technology stakeholders.\n\nComfortable operating in a fast-paced transformation environment and taking a hands-on approach to delivery.\n\nSkills and Personal attributes we would like to have:\nExperience working within a finance transformation, CFO advisory, consulting or professional services environment.\n\nExposure to finance technology or ERP transformation.\n\nExperience supporting process improvement, automation or digital transformation initiatives within Finance.\n\nExperience translating Finance requirements for technical, data or engineering teams.\n\nAs part of a leading global Data and AI company, you can look forward to:\n\nA competitive salary with a generous bonus, private healthcare, critical illness life assurance at 4 x your annual salary, income protection insurance, and a rewarding pension.\n\nEXL provides everyday financial well-being solutions, such as cash back cards, in which you can earn cashback while enjoying discounts, promotions, and offers from top retailers.
