For more information, visit www.exlservice.com.\nRole Title:Finance Manager, Controllership - Must be fluent in Romanian & English\nBU/Segment: Finance\nLocation: Dublin, Republic of Ireland (Flexible hybrid working)\nEmployment Type: Permanent\nSummary of the role:\nEXL is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its International Controllership team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, statutory reporting, compliance, and controllership activities for one or more legal entities within the EMEA region, with a primary focus on Romania and Bulgaria.\nThe successful candidate will act as a key liaison between local finance operations, external advisors, auditors, and EXL's global finance organisation. The individual must be fluent in both Romanian and English and possess strong technical accounting expertise, together with a solid understanding of Romanian statutory, and tax requirements.\nAs part of your duties, you will be responsible for:\nFinancial Reporting & Close Management\nLead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.\n\nEnsure accurate and timely preparation of statutory financial reporting.\n\nReview journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\n\nAnalyse financial results and investigate significant variances.\n\nSupport consolidation and group reporting requirements.\n\nStatutory Compliance\nManage Romanian and Bulgarian statutory accounting and financial statement preparation.\n\nCoordinate annual audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.\n\nEnsure compliance with local accounting regulations and company policies.\n\nOversee compliance with reporting obligations.\n\nSupport implementation and monitoring of new accounting standard changes.\n\nSupport SOX and internal control compliance activities where applicable.\n\nTax & Indirect Tax Compliance\nPartner with internal and external tax advisors on corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing matters.\n\nAssist with local tax authority queries and compliance reviews.\n\nEnsure alignment between accounting records, tax filings, and statutory reporting.\n\nQualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:\nQualified Accountant with 3+ years of accounting and finance experience.\n\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.\n\nStrong understanding of Romanian accounting regulations and statutory reporting requirements.\n\nExperience managing audits and working with external auditors.\n\nFluent Romanian, written and spoken - mandatory.\n\nFluent English, written and spoken - mandatory.\n\nSkills and Personal attributes we would like to have:\nExperience working within a multinational organisation.\n\nExperience in a shared services, BPO, or multinational environment.\n\nKnowledge of Romanian VAT, payroll, SAF-T (D406), and e-Factura requirements.\n\nExperience with Oracle Fusion, SAP, or other large ERP platforms.\n\nAs part of a leading global Data and AI company, you can look forward to:\n\nA competitive salary with a generous bonus, private healthcare, life assurance at 4 x your annual salary, income protection insurance, and a rewarding pension.\n\nAt EXL, we are committed to providing our employees with the tools and resources they need to succeed and excel in their careers.
