For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, XML processing to build and enhance a Healthcare Data Quality Platform focused on evaluating, scoring, and onboarding clinical data from CCDA documents.\nThe successful candidate will work on a modern backend platform, responsible for clinical document parsing, healthcare data quality analysis, secure data ingestion, and integration.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Python backend development including production service designing and deployment. \nExperience owning system architecture decisions: service boundaries, data model design and API contracts. \nFastAPI - routers, Depends() injection, UploadFile handling, StreamingResponse, StaticFiles for SPA serving. Understanding of same-origin deployment.\nStrong hands-on experience parsing XML with lxml.\nStrong SQL experience.\nExperienced in query troubleshooting such as isolating blocks of poor performing code, determining root cause and developing remediation actions. \nKnowledge of HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards.\nStrong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.\nAnalytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge & experience in US Healthcare Interoperability, HEDIS & handling CCDA / HL7 CDA R2 document structure is preferred.\nDesign-thinking & excellent verbal and written communication skills.\n Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI. \nBuild scalable APIs for healthcare data ingestion, processing, scoring, and reporting. \n Develop and maintain REST endpoints supporting file uploads, data validation, and export capabilities. \nImplement processing patterns, thread pools, and dependency injection. \nCreate reusable and maintainable code using Python best practices, type hints, and data-class-based models.\nDevelop and maintain CCDA parsing and data extraction capabilities. \nParse healthcare documents using lxml and XPath expressions. \nExtract, analyze, and score clinical information\nEnhance data quality scoring algorithms and clinical coverage assessment logic. \nImplement security and governance best praticies.\nSupport healthcare interoperability and clinical data quality initiatives.\n Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Python backend development including production service designing and deployment. \nExperience owning system architecture decisions: service boundaries, data model design and API contracts. \nFastAPI - routers, Depends() injection, UploadFile handling, StreamingResponse, StaticFiles for SPA serving.
