The engineering team at Exoscale works on all aspects from designing & developing products, to their operation and support. The Hardware Engineer works at the intersection of hardware and software. With an expanding customer base and new products to further advance Exoscale's product portfolio, Hardware Engineers ensures our data centers operate with maximum efficiency, reliability, and performance. As users of Exoscale itself,\nHardware Engineers also take active part in improving products This position focuses on specifying, designing and qualifying hardware for cloud data centers, including developping standards and hardware life cyle management.\nSome of the challenges you will be working on:\nDesign and specify hypervisor and storage chassis and servers, as well as hardware configurations.\nEvaluate and qualify new hardware technologies and vendors for deployment at scale.\nDevelop hardware standards and best practices.\nPlan and execute hardware refresh cycles and participate in capacity expansions.\nAnalyze hardware utilization and performance data to optimize configurations\nMonitor hardware performance, reliability metrics, and failure rates across the fleet.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex hardware issues in production environments\nCoordinate with vendors, providers and manufacturers.\nDrive cost optimization initiatives through hardware lifecycle management.\nCollaborate with site reliability and software engineers to optimize hardware-software integration.\nResearch emerging technologies and technology watch.\nIdeal candidates:\nStrong understanding of x86/ARM server architectures, memory hierarchies, and I/O systems.\nExperience working in large scale data center environments.\nExperience with hardware automation and monitoring tools.\nExperience with Linux/Unix operating systems and hardware management tools (IPMI, BMC, etc.)\nExperience with Open Compute Project.\nUnderstanding of power and cooling systems in data centers, including liquid cooling.\nFamiliarity with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and switching>\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)\nAre curious, autonomous and embrace learning new things everyday.\nAre team players and are comfortable working in a distributed team.\nHave good English communication
