space a sustainable frontier for future generations.\nJob Description\nAs part of our In-Orbit Services (IoS) division, we are looking for an Avionics Hardware Architect to define and lead the hardware architecture of our Data Handling System (DHS), from early design phases through to flight model delivery.\nYou will play a key role in designing robust avionics hardware solutions, ensuring consistency across satellite subsystems and driving technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle.\nHardware Architecture Definition\nDefine and maintain the physical architecture of the Data Handling System (DHS) throughout the development lifecycle.\n\nDevelop and maintain the hardware design baseline and architecture documentation.\n\nEnsure the scalability, robustness, and maintainability of avionics hardware solutions.\n\nSupport technical trade-offs and key architectural decisions.\n\nInterface Management\nEnsure consistency and compatibility between the DHS and other satellite subsystems.\n\nDefine and manage hardware interfaces across avionics equipment.\n\nCollaborate closely with functional avionics, software, power, thermal and mechanical teams.\n\nGuarantee alignment between hardware architecture, functional requirements, and software constraints.\n\nDevelopment Strategy & Technical Leadership\nDefine the hardware development strategy, including make-or-buy analyses and equipment sourcing decisions.\n\nStructure the hardware breakdown and define development roadmaps, milestones, and model philosophy.\n\nLead technical decision-making related to architectures, components, hardware/software allocations, and supplier solutions.\n\nIdentify and mitigate technical risks impacting cost, schedule, or performance.\n\nSupplier Management & Procurement\nPrepare technical specifications and statements of work for suppliers.\n\nPerform trade-off analyses and support supplier selection activities.\n\nMonitor procurement and development activities through regular reviews with suppliers and partners.\n\nEnsure successful delivery of hardware equipment according to project requirements.\n\nVerification, Validation & Product Assurance\nEnsure compliance with applicable space standards, including ECSS requirements.\n\nLead equipment-level verification and validation activities.\n\nSupport qualification, acceptance, and environmental testing campaigns.\n\nPrepare and participate in technical reviews including PDR, CDR, and Qualification Reviews.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Engineering, Systems, AIT, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project teams.\n\nCoordinate hardware contributors, both internal and external.\n\nRepresent Exotrail in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and partners.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.\n\nAbout You\nRequired Experience\nSeveral years of experience in avionics hardware development, electronics architecture, embedded systems, or related engineering fields.\n\nStrong background in the design of complex electronic systems and high-reliability products.\n\nExperience defining hardware architectures and managing technical developments throughout the product lifecycle.\n\nFamiliarity with supplier management and multidisciplinary engineering environments.\n\nExperience in aerospace, space, defense, automotive, or other safety-critical industries.\n\nPrevious experience in the space sector is a strong plus.\n\nTechnical Skills\nHardware architecture design, including processors, SoCs, memory architectures, and electronic equipment.\n\nGood understanding of spacecraft and avionics subsystems.\n\nAbility to structure and manage complex multi-equipment architectures.\n\nSupplier management and cross-functional technical coordination.\n\nSolid electronics design fundamentals.\n\nUnderstanding of low-level software layers, drivers, and FPGA-based architectures.\n\nKnowledge of communication interfaces and protocols such as CAN, RS-422, RS-485, and similar technologies.\n\nFamiliarity with embedded Linux environments is a plus.\n\nKnowledge of
