Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Civil Engineer, Mining!\nYour work environment at EXP\nIn this role, as a Civil Engineer, Mining, you will be a part of the Mining team, based in either St. Johns, NL, Brampton, Sudbury, or North Bay, ON, offices.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nComplete engineering calculations and models for assessments, including: seepage and stability, pipe and drainage ditch design, hydrology and hydraulics plans, erosion, settling of solids, alternative cover demonstrations, geochemistry, and statistics.\nAssist the Director of Engineering, civil Engineer and EITs with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.\nPrepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.\nPlan and execute field exploration programs focused on gathering data to support site investigation and design activities. The work may involve soil boring and test pit logging, well installation, development, and sampling.\nProvide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates.\nReview and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists.\nPerform Project Management tasks for capital and maintenance projects.\nPerform and document construction observation and construction quality assurance testing for Geosynthetics or Earthworks on large civil or power projects.\nPrepare interpretive reports to support the development of engineering design and construction documents.\nDevelop grading plans and designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D.\nAssist with writing reports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical advice and review.\nWhat your experience looks like\nUndergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering\nRegistration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the province is mandatory\nA minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering design within mining, or industrial projects of varying stages from conceptual to detailed design\nSolid experience in site development, and pipe and open channel hydraulics, Mine access road design\nTailings / slurry piping design experience is an asset\nSound knowledge of various piping materials, fittings and joining methods\nExperience in storm water management, stormwater runoff calculations, sizing the ditches, culverts and ponds\nGood understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls\nExperience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations on civil designs\nExperience in writing technical reports, specifications and in preparing the material take-offs for Cost Estimates\nExperience in procurement, technical evaluations of construction contracts and material / equipment supply contracts\nExcellent organizational, technical, communication and computer skills\nKnowledge of general civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, Mining Laws and Regulations, standards and construction methods\nThis job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.\nThe salary range for this role is between $85K - $95K.
