& Healthcare Buildings team, of the MEP Sector, based inCoral Gables, Florida.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nResponsible for meeting firms engineering quality levels for discipline on assigned projects.\nOversees development of design concepts by Designers and ensure proper application and execution.\nVerifies designer’s s work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.\nMentors and encourages development of Designer level staff.\nResponsible for applying firms risk management practices of project engineering.\nLeads the discipline design to produce construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget while minimizing erroneous efforts.\nHave a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.\nEncourages collaboration to seek the best solutions.\nFront-end loads projects and apply best practices to set the proper direction of the project in SDs and DDs.\nManages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.\nWrites studies and reports for Electrical systems on projects. \nExecutes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.\nExpert in specific Electrical requirements for applications within a market sector(s).\nEvaluates Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.\nEdits and develops basis of design narratives documenting project scope.\nMeet with contractors during bid phase to review the design details.\nEngineering/Design\nPrepare one-line diagrams.\nMaintain the discipline Engineering documents for the project.\nRespond to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittals.\nSolve installation problems with electrical systems, travel to the site to resolve issues.\nCAD proficient with working CAD drawings.\nPrepare CAD floor plans showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, equipment, etc.\nPerform calculations for available fault current study; implement proper AIC ratings of equipment, coordination studies, and arc flash analysis.\nPrepare calculations for electrical loads and panel schedules.\nThorough knowledge of NEC and other codes.\nUnderstand and correctly apply concepts of emergency and normal power systems\nExtensive knowledge of lighting, photometric, and lighting controls.\nUnderstand and apply concepts of voltage drop, conductor sizing, harmonics, etc.\nEdit electrical specifications.\nLayout fire alarm devices on floor plans.\nDevelop equipment room sizes during Schematic Design and Design Development phases.\nSelect and schedule equipment.\nMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application.\nCoordinate with other disciplines (MEP/FP, arch, struct, etc) for all electrical & lighting details.\nManage and deliver revisions (ASI’s, etc).\nUnderstands circuit breaker coordination and application.\nUnderstands specific Electrical requirements for applications within the Market Sector.\nUnderstands and properly applies details relevant to projects.\nProject Coordination\nDistribute project related correspondence to project team members.\nPrepare project meeting minutes Schedule in-house discipline meetings.\nOversee deliverables to and from clients.\nOversee and encourage coordination between disciplines.\nProvide discipline specific manpower planning for projects.\nProvide continuous support for the Project Manager.\nWhat your experience looks like\n3+ years' experience in electrical design for Hospitality, Entertainment or Healthcare facilities.\nThorough knowledge of NEC and building codes.\nExperience in using SKM Power Tools or similar software for engineering calculations (Fault Current Studies, Coordination Studies, Arc Fault Studies)\nAutoCAD and REVIT MEP proficient (REVIT Experience is required)\nBS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree.\nRegistered P.E. is preferred but not
