Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Electrical EIT / Engineering Trainee (Mining)!\nYour work environment at EXP\nIn this role, you will join our Mining and Metals team and work alongside experienced electrical engineers, designers, and project managers on a variety of mining and industrial projects. As an Electrical EIT / Engineering Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in electrical power distribution, mine infrastructure, instrumentation and control systems, and multidisciplinary project delivery while developing the technical and professional skills needed to become a licensed Professional Engineer.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nAssist in the design and analysis of electrical systems for mining and industrial facilities.\nSupport the development of power distribution systems, motor control centers, substations, lighting systems, grounding, and cable routing designs.\nPrepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and design packages.\nContribute to the development of single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and electrical schematics.\nCoordinate with mechanical, process, structural, civil, and instrumentation teams to support integrated project delivery.\nParticipate in site visits, inspections, commissioning support, and field investigations as required.\nSupport engineering studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination analyses.\nAssist with project documentation, quality reviews, and adherence to applicable codes and standards.\nContribute to project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.\nWhat your experience looks like\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.\nRegistered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a provincial engineering association.\nInterest in mining, metals, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects.\nFamiliarity with electrical engineering fundamentals, including power systems and electrical equipment.\nExposure to engineering design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, EasyPower, SKM, or similar tools is considered an asset.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication abilities.\nAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.\nStrong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.\nPrevious co-op, internship, or related industry experience is considered an asset.\nWhy EXP?\nWork on exciting mining and industrial projects across Canada.\nLearn from experienced engineering professionals and industry experts.\nBuild the competencies required for professional engineering designation.\nCollaborate in a supportive, employee-owned organization that values innovation, diversity, and professional growth.\nGain exposure to all phases of project delivery, from studies and design through construction and commissioning.\nThis job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.\nThe salary range for this role is between $61K - $82K .The actual compensation package will be based on several factors unique to each candidate, including education, experience, skill set, certifications, and work location.\nEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
