Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Geotechnical Engineer in Trainin g!\nYour work environment at EXP\nIn this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical team, based in our Kamloops office. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local geotechnical projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with EXP team members across Western Canada on some very large and challenging projects!\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nWorking closely with Project Engineers/Managers, field teams and materials staff to conduct construction observations and coordinate testing in both the field and laboratory for projects mainly in and around, but not limited to the Kamloops area. For each project, the successful candidate could be involved in:\nConduct geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting\nCoordinate subcontractors to execute assigned projects\nAnalyzes geotechnical data to prepare results for reports\nPrepares initial drafts of geotechnical reports\nCarry out engineering analysis under P.Eng. supervision (Previous use of GInt, SlopeW, MSEW, or other Retaining Wall Design software are Assets)\nOccasionally Performing Materials field work\nCreate proposals and budgets for geotechnical and materials projects\nAttend staff and project meetings when requested\nInteraction with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their needs\nCollecting soil and asphalt samples on site \nCarry out asphalt coring\nSome in-lab work, such as testing concrete cylinders, grain size analysis, Proctor tests, asphalt tests, geotechnical index testing, etc.\nSubgrade field reviews\nProblem solving of project site issues\nWhat your experience looks like\nBachelor’s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering\n0 to 2 years of relevant experience\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\nTeam player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams\nExcellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills\nStrong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD\nProficient problem-solving skills\nMust possess valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites\nThis job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.\nThe salary range for this role is between $60,000 to $80,000.
