Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Geotechnical Field Technician!\nYour work environment at EXP\nIn this role, you will be a part of the Earth & Environmental sector, based in the Windsor, ON office. Under the leadership of the Project Manager, the successful candidate will participate in the conception and development of various residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects in the Geotechnical Inspection and Materials Testing Field.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nPerform concrete testing (slump, air test and cast test cylinders) in the field\nPerform field compaction testing on various construction materials with soil density gauge\nMonitor the placement of asphalt pavement and collect samples and perform compaction testing\nMonitor the placement of soil and granular materials and carry out compaction testing as part of trench backfill, engineered fill or general backfill or grading operations\nCarry out subgrade inspections for building projects and roadway infrastructure works\nPerform footing and reinforcing bar inspections\nMonitor the installation of caissons, piles and shoring system\nProperly identify/classify soil types from samples\nPerform soil and granular proctor tests\nPerform granular sieve tests\nWhat your experience looks like\nCivil Technician or Technology Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Natural Sciences (Earth Science, Environmental Science, or Civil Engineering)\n2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role preferred\nAbility to understand and resolve problems relating to soil, granular and asphalt while on construction sites\nAble to read drawings and specifications\nAbility to exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with fellow staff, clients, consultants and contractors\nExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to write clear field reports, including making recommendations\nStrong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail\nMust possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction sites\nThe salary range for this role is between $44K to $55K.
