Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Intermediate Civil Engineering Technologist / Technician!\nYour work environment at EXP\nEXP is looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineering Technologist / Technician to join our growing Civil Engineering Infrastructure team in Western Canada.\nAs a part of the Civil Engineering Infrastructure - Western Canada team, you will work closely with engineers, project managers and technical staff to develop practical, coordinated designs for municipal and civil infrastructure projects.\nThis role is suited to someone who is comfortable producing civil design drawings and is ready for greater involvement in design development, coordination, quality and project delivery.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nPrepare Civil Engineering drawings and coordinated design packages.\n\nSupport the design of municipal roads, grading, underground utilities, water, sanitary sewer and stormwater infrastructure.\n\nDevelop plans, profiles, sections, details, quantity take-offs and construction drawings.\n\nTranslate engineering concepts, calculations and design criteria into coordinated technical drawings.\n\nAssist with conceptual, preliminary and detailed design assignments.\n\nReview record drawings, survey information, utility data and background materials.\n\nCoordinate drawings with engineers, project managers and other technical disciplines.\n\nSupport the preparation of cost estimates, tender documents and construction documentation.\n\nAssist with design revisions, record drawings and construction-phase documentation.\n\nCoordinate 3rdParty Utility designs.\n\nParticipate in field investigations and site reviews, as required.\n\nComplete self-checks and follow EXP drafting, design, file-management and quality standards.\n\nSupport junior designers and technicians as experience develops.\n\nCollaborate with project teams across Western Canada.\n\nWhat your experience looks like\nDiploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.\n\nRelevant experience in civil or municipal infrastructure design.\n\nExperience preparing engineering drawings using applicable civil design and drafting software.\n\nFundamental understanding of Civil3D and how Civil3D is integrated into overall project delivery on municipal infrastructure projects.\n\nUnderstanding of municipal infrastructure, utility coordination and construction practices.\n\nAbility to interpret survey information, engineering calculations, standards and design criteria.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, coordinated deliverables.\n\nGood communication, organization and time-management skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple assignments and work effectively with engineers, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.\n\nAssets\nProfessional certification or eligibility for certification with the applicable provincial technology association.\n\nExperience with municipal roadway, water, wastewater, stormwater or land-development projects.\n\nField, construction or record-drawing experience.\n\nWorking in BIM360 environment\n\nEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
