Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Junior Structural Engineer for buildings projects.\nYour work environment at EXP\nIn this role, you will be a part of a Building Structures focused team, and this position would be located in Orlando, Tampa, Miami or Fort Lauderdale.\nThe Building Structures team executes projects throughout the United States and several US Territories. In addition, opportunities to support non-US based teams within EXP should be expected.\nThe successful candidate will be able to work as with a diverse team in-house team of professionals and subconsultants throughout the country in all disciplines. You will work and collaborate with experienced members of the Building Structures team for mentoring and career development.\nThe chosen candidate should expect engagement in a variety of project types. Major market sectors include but are not limited to mission critical buildings, aviation, light passenger rail facilities and commercial building design.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nGenerally, take direction from senior engineers and project leads. Expect autonomy and independence to be commensurate with experience.\nExperience includes Vertical structure design with experience in wood, steel, concrete, masonry and light gauge framing.\nSeismic and wind lateral design experience preferred\nCalculations, sketches, drawing production, specifications, multi-discipline coordination should be expected on a regular basis.\nConducting observations of and evaluating existing conditions in both the field and via existing historical drawings are commonplace.\nExpect to work on multiple projects concurrently that require coordination of work between multiple EXP offices, as well as outside consultants.\nOccasional short-term travel to project sites. Usually, a single night or two at a time.\nFlexible hours and hybrid office attendance.\nWhat your experience looks like\nTargeted experience level is 2-4 years with a focus on building design. \nPossess a solid understanding of various structural analysis software such as RAM, RISA, ETABS.\nPossess strong Revit skills in both modeling and sheet creation at a minimum. Additional skills on items such as family creation, knowledge of parameter use, and templates is a plus.\nEIT Preferred\nFamiliarity with the Florida Building Code and International Building Code. Software: RAM Suite, CSI Suite, Enercalc, Revit.\nA Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering w/ an emphasis on structures and/or relevant advanced coursework is considered a minimum requirement.\nHold excellent written and verbal communication skills.
