Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Mechanical Designer/Engineer for Mission Critical and Commercial building projects.\nYour work environment at EXP\nEXP an award-winning international engineering firm, is currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Designer/Engineer. This is an opportunity to get great exposure from our talented and experienced engineering staff in our Richmond, VA or Columbus, OH offices.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nProficient with AutoCAD.\nPrepare/Review calculations for loads.\nThorough knowledge of codes.\nEdit specifications to reflect the project requirements.\nSelect and schedule equipment.\nMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application.\nCoordinates with other disciplines (MEP/FP, Arch, Struct, etc.).\nRespond to RFI’s for the project and accurately review submittals.\nApply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp’s and client’s exposure to problems.\nUnderstand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan.\nUnderstand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents - and deliver appropriate documentation.\nWork with PC, PM, and Clients to meet scheduled project milestones of multiple projects.\nEdit and develop scope of work narratives (SD narrative, basis of design, etc.).\nUnderstand and properly provide existing exp details relevant to projects.\nBe able to direct and mentor Design level staff on all of their responsibilities on a daily basis.\nPerform at a ‘responsible charge’ level of meeting exp’s design and quality levels.\nQA/QC reviews of all calculations by Designers, and provide guidance and mentoring.\nDetermine content of drawings and specs for Designers in order to meet the scope of work.\nDevelop and monitor work plans in conjunction with other PM’s.\nReview code related items with Designers and ensure compliance\nManage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.\nWrite studies and reports for systems on projects.\nWrite sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems.\nUnderstands and apply concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems.\nAir side systems - CV, VAV, coil selection, fan selection.\nHydronic Systems - hot, chilled condenser, steam.\nThorough understanding of psychometrics and be able to apply to every project.\nAdvanced equipment selection and analysis -
