Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Senior Civil Engineer (Mining)!\nYour work environment at EXP\nAs a Senior Civil Engineer, Mining, you will join our Mining & Metals team based in one of our offices in Sudbury, North Bay, St. John's, NL or Brampton. In this role, you will lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex mining and industrial infrastructure projects across Canada. You will serve as a technical resource and project leader, guiding multidisciplinary teams while supporting clients through all stages of project development, from feasibility studies and detailed engineering to construction and commissioning.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nLead the civil engineering design and delivery of mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects.\nProvide technical leadership for site development, stormwater management, earthworks, water management systems, mine access roads, tailings facilities, and civil infrastructure.\nDirect and review engineering analyses, calculations, and modeling related to hydrology, hydraulics, drainage systems, erosion and sediment control, seepage, and site-wide water management.\nLead engineering studies, feasibility assessments, conceptual designs, and detailed engineering packages.\nServe as Engineer of Record and provide professional review and stamping of engineering documentation where applicable.\nManage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and client expectations.\nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure quality project execution and successful delivery.\nLead technical reviews and provide mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities for junior and intermediate engineers, EITs, designers, and technologists.\nSupport construction activities through site reviews, construction observation, commissioning support, and technical issue resolution.\nPrepare and review technical reports, design criteria documents, specifications, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, permit applications, and regulatory submissions.\nParticipate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, relationship management, and identifying new opportunities.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulators, Indigenous communities, and project stakeholders.\nWhat your experience looks like\nBachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.\nRegistered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian province.\nMinimum 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with significant experience supporting mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure projects.\nExtensive experience in site development, grading design, earthworks, drainage systems, stormwater management, and water infrastructure.\nStrong understanding of mining infrastructure, including mine site development, access roads, tailings facilities, water management systems, and related civil works.\nProven project management experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction.\nExperience managing project teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.\nAdvanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering design software.\nStrong understanding of geotechnical recommendations and their application to civil engineering design.\nExperience developing construction specifications, contract documents, procurement packages, technical bid evaluations, and cost estimates.\nThorough knowledge of applicable Canadian design standards, regulatory requirements, mining legislation, and industry best practices.\nDemonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team development experience.\nExcellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nWillingness to travel periodically to project sites and client locations.\nWhy EXP?\nLead impactful mining and infrastructure projects across Canada.\nWork with a multidisciplinary team of industry-leading professionals.\nInfluence technical standards and best practices within a growing mining practice.\nMentor and develop the next generation of engineering professionals.\nBe part of an employee-owned company that values innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial thinking.\nAccess opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and career advancement.\nThis job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.\nThe salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $119,000.
