Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager.\nYour work environment at EXP\nIn this role, you will be a part of the Mission Critical team, of the, based in California with flexibility to work remote but also responsible for site visits and client meetings in person as needed while having the opportunity to work with one of our Fortune 500 Clients.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nCAD proficient with working CAD drawings.\nPrepare/Review calculations for loads.\nThorough knowledge of codes.\nEdit specifications to reflect the project requirements.\nDevelop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases.\nSelect and schedule equipment.\nMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application.\nCoordinates with other disciplines (MEP/FP, Arch, Struct, etc.).\nRespond to RFI’s for the project and accurately review submittals.\nSolve installation problems.\nApply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp’s and client’s exposure to problems.\nUnderstand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan.\nUnderstand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents - and deliver appropriate documentation.\nWork with PC, PM, and Clients to meet scheduled project milestones of multiple projects.\nManage and deliver revisions (ASI’s, etc.) and sketches according to proper numbering convention\nEdit and develop scope of work narratives (SD narrative, basis of design, etc.).\nMarket Sector - Understands specific engineering requirements for applications within a market sector.\nUnderstand and properly provide existing exp details relevant to projects.\nBe able to direct and mentor Designer level staff on all of their responsibilities on a daily basis.\nPerform at a ‘responsible charge’ level of meeting exp’s design and quality levels.\nQA/QC reviews of all calculations by Designers, and provide guidance and mentoring.\nDetermine content of drawings and specs for Designers in order to meet the scope of work.\nDevelop and monitor work plans in conjunction with other PM's.\nReview code related items with Designers and ensure compliance\nManage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.\nWrite studies and reports for systems on projects.\nWrite sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems.\nUnderstands and applies concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems.\nAir side systems - CV, VAV, coil selection, fan selection.\nHydronic Systems - hot, chilled condenser, steam.\nThorough understanding of psychometrics and be able to apply to every project.\nAdvanced equipment selection and analysis - chillers, boilers, air terminals, cooling towers, air valves, heap filters, DX equipment and water source heat pumps.\nThorough understanding of humid climate design risks.\nThorough understanding of total energy concepts.\nWhat your experience looks like\n10+ years in project management/ mechanical design experience.\nPE License\nMust be a degreed engineer and hold a professional engineering license.\nMust have strong leadership skills and good communication capabilities.\nPreferred experience includes data center, mission critical and or telecom industry.\nBuilding design experience is a must\nThe pay range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
