Together, we are EXP.\nAre you ready to design your future?\nBe our next Structural Intern - Bridges\nYour work environment at EXP\nEXP is currently seeking a Structural Intern for its Chicago office to work within the Infrastructure - Transportation business practice. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of junior or senior engineers with a focus on transportation/structural related planning and design projects. The environment is fast-paced and growth oriented, ideally suited for individuals who like to take charge and are driven to gain experience working in a consulting engineering firm. Candidates can have interest in any number of civil engineering disciplines and work may be assigned as needed without regard for specialized areas of interest.\nWhat a day at EXP has in store for you\nAssist with on-site inspections and limited field assignments;\nUtilize CAD programs to assist in the preparation of plan drawings and details;\nPerform rudimentary calculations under the direction of a licensed engineer;\nAssist with preparation of technical specifications and reports;\nPerform material quantity take-offs;\nOrganize design calculations\nAssist project teams in meeting deadlines as needed.\nWhat your experience looks like\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited college civil engineering program\nExperience with computer aided drafting and Microsoft Office products\nPunctuality and maturity - ability to work with minimal direction\nAbility to work outdoors for limited field assignments\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\nAbility to work in a team environment\nThe hourly range for this role is $21 to $30. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
