A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.\nThe Login Experience team is responsible for building and maintaining the traveler sign-in, registration, and account-access experiences across brands like Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Orbitz, Travelocity and more. As the front door to every traveler's journey, our work directly shapes first impressions and trust - ensuring travelers can sign in and access their accounts quickly, securely, and consistently, no matter which brand or surface they land on. This Frontend/UI Engineer role directly supports execution of committed engineering work, reduces delivery risk, and ensures we can meet key customer, partner, and business objectives within the planned timeline.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign and implement high-quality user interfaces and interaction patterns that align with product requirements, design systems, accessibility standards, and performance goals across multiple surfaces and devices.\nImplement robust client-side application architecture, including component composition, state management, routing, and API integration patterns that are scalable and maintainable across multiple product surfaces.\nCollaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to refine requirements, validate technical feasibility, identify tradeoffs, and deliver incremental, testable UX improvements backed by data and experimentation.\nApply strong front-end engineering practices including automated testing, code reviews, performance optimization, security-conscious coding, and observability for web applications at scale.\nContribute to and consume shared UI component libraries, design systems, and tooling to enable reuse and consistency across teams and projects, ensuring solutions can be adapted for multiple domains.\nDemonstrate familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products, and safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve user experience, personalization, and content relevance.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.\n5+ years of relevant professional experience.\nProfessional experience developing production-grade web applications using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, including integration with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.\nProven experience owning user-facing features end-to-end within a web application, including low-level UI design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support in collaboration with cross-functional partners.\nDemonstrated skills in front-end system design, including component-level low-level design (LLD), API consumption patterns, and data modeling for view-layer state and client-side data management, within modern engineering ecosystems and tooling (such as package managers, build systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience designing and evolving complex React architectures at scale, including patterns for state management, performance tuning, and modularization across multiple products or domains.\nBackground in building and extending shared UI component libraries or design systems, and driving adoption of best practices for accessibility, localization, and responsive design across teams.\nTrack record of using data and experimentation (A/B tests, analytics, user behavior insights) to inform UX decisions and iteratively improve customer-facing experiences.\nHands-on experience with AI-augmented developer or UX workflows (for example, code generation assistance, design optimization, or personalized UI experiences), with the ability to safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled capabilities in web applications.\nExperience collaborating with AI/ML and backend teams to design front-end APIs, interaction patterns, and data flows that surface AI-driven personalization, recommendations, or automation in a transparent, responsible, and performant way, including role-specific application of AI/ML concepts to enhance user experience.\nAccommodation requests\nExpedia Group is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruiting experience.
