Join us and build for travelers everywhere.\nSenior Accountant I\nOur Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.\nWe are looking for a dedicated, independent, and thorough Statutory reporting enthusiast!\nIn this position, you will have primary responsibility for statutory accounting compliance for a number of standard companies within the Expedia Group. You will be involved in various projects to improve processes to demonstrate your ability to innovate and be creative.\nIn this role, you will:\nLiaise with external auditors, coordinating the collection of all data and explanations requested, and preparing the audit file to support these. With your manager assistance, you will also be the primary contact for audit queries\nInteract with other teams (finance or non-finance teams) and external advisors when needed to have the information readily available on a timely basis for the preparation of the statutory accounts\nWork closely with the International Tax team on any corporation tax issues relating to the companies within your scope\nPrepare journal entries and account reconciliations, reviewing monthly P&L and Balance Sheets, per company, prior to close - to ensure these are as expected and to assist the Corporate Accounting team in identifying errors or omissions\nWhere a company’s primary bookkeeping function is outsourced, communicate on a monthly basis with external advisors on local GAAP differences and local compliance (document retention, local Tax compliance, etc)\nEnsure all SOX controls are maintained and adhered to\nExperience and qualifications :\nUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent is an advantage.\nMinimum 3 years of relevant professional experience\nBig 4 audit experience preferred\nFluency in English is required\nAbility to use accounting knowledge and previous experience to add value and assist in meeting the department's objectives while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and high-growth organization\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, and similar functionality)\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of clearly articulating complex processes\nSecond spoken language is a plus\nPlease note that this role is only available in the following locations: Prague, in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office at least three days a week.\nThe total cash range for this position in Prague is Kč584,500.00 to Kč818,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to Kč935,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.\nStarting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
