You will shape execution, develop engineering talent, influence technical direction, and partner across Product and Technology to create meaningful customer and business impact.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead, coach, and develop software engineers while fostering an inclusive culture of ownership, learning, and innovation.\nDeliver complex engineering initiatives supporting loyalty experiences and platform capabilities across Expedia Group brands.\nPartner with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to define priorities, align roadmaps, and deliver customer value.\nCommunicate progress, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leaders and executives.\nInfluence architectural decisions and guide scalable, reliable, and maintainable engineering solutions.\nBuild partnerships across teams to deliver loyalty capabilities spanning the traveler journey.\nHelp shape an integrated platform and experience organization that enables engineers to work across technologies and domains.\nProvide technical leadership across distributed systems, APIs, and services supporting rewards, benefits, and traveler engagement.\nSupport engineering teams working with Kotlin, Java, React, Android, iOS, cloud-native technologies, and service-oriented architectures.\nExperience and Qualifications:\nExperience leading software engineering teams in a technology organization.\nExperience developing engineers and future leaders through coaching, feedback, and career support.\nTechnical background in software engineering, with experience in backend, platform, web, or mobile technologies.\nExperience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.\nUnderstanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, and engineering best practices.\nProficient communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience creating an inclusive environment where people can contribute and do their best work.\nPreferred:\nExperience with loyalty, rewards, benefits, personalization, or traveler engagement products.\nExperience leading teams responsible for both customer-facing experiences and platform services.\nExperience working with Kotlin or Java and cloud-native, distributed systems.\nExperience guiding technical strategy across multiple brands, products, or technology domains.\nThe total cash range for this position in Rome is €73,000.00 to €102,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to €117,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.\nStarting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
