Our Context Engineering team serves real-time traveler, booking, and trip data across all servicing channels - powering identification and verification, differentiated servicing, contextual routing, and agent tools for the AI and human agents who support our travelers and partners.\nJoin us to build high-scale data services at the heart of Expedia’s AI-powered servicing experience.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance services and\napplications, contributing to end-to-end feature delivery across multiple\ndomains.\nImplement clean, testable code, including system design (low-level design), API\ndesign, and data modeling, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and\nmaintainable.\nCollaborate with peers, product, and operations teams to translate business and\ncustomer requirements into technical solutions, using data and metrics to guide\ndecisions.\nOwn the full software development lifecycle for your services, including code\nreviews, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support in\nproduction environments.\nSafely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes,\nincluding familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying\nAI/ML concepts to real world products.\nContribute to shared platforms, libraries, and patterns that can be reused across\nteams, increasing engineering efficiency and enabling fungibility across multiple\nproduct and service areas.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field; or Equivalent\nrelated professional experience.\n2+ years of relevant professional experience\nHands-on experience with object-oriented and functional programming\nlanguages (such as Kotlin, Java, or similar), data structures and algorithms, and\ncore software engineering practices such as code reviews, unit/integration\ntesting, CI/CD, and observability.\nDemonstrated ability to design and implement service- or API-based solutions,\nincluding basic data modeling and system design within a single service or small\nset of services.\nExperience collaborating in an agile environment, owning features from design\nthrough deployment, and supporting them in production within a team or\nproduct area.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience designing and evolving service architectures, including thoughtful\nlow-level design, API contracts, and data models that support reliability,\nperformance, and extensibility.\nProven experience operating systems at scale, including monitoring, alerting,\nincident response, and continuous improvement of reliability, latency, and cost.\nTrack record of using data and experimentation to drive engineering decisions,\noptimize user experiences, and improve system behavior.\nFamiliarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML\nconcepts to real world products, including safely integrating AI/ML-enabled\ncapabilities into existing services.\nExperience contributing to technical direction within a team through code and\ndesign feedback, and applying modern engineering practices (e.g., automation,\nsecurity-by-design, performance tuning) to elevate overall code quality.\nAccommodation requests\nExpedia Group is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruiting experience.
