Join us and build for travelers everywhere.\nIntroduction to the team\nAs a Machine Learning Scientist II, you will join Expedia Group's Air Pricing Machine Learning Science team and develop production machine learning solutions for complex, high-volumeairlineand travel marketplace challenges. Ata high level, the team uses predictive modeling, experimentation, and decision science to understand traveler demand and response to price, improve booking and commercial decisions, and support coordinated optimization across Air pricing levers.\nYou will work across the machine learning lifecycle, from understanding a business problem and exploring data through model development, causal evaluation, deployment, and monitoring. You will collaborate with experienced scientists, engineers, analysts, product partners, and Air domain experts while continuing to develop your technical and businessexpertise.\nIn this role, you will:\nDevelop, evaluate, and improve machine learning models that address real-world Air product and business problems.\n\nTranslate ambiguous problems into measurableobjectives, selectingappropriate data, modeling approaches, and evaluation methods.\n\nPartner with engineers, product managers, scientists, analysts, and Air domain experts to move machine learning solutions from experimentation into reliable products.\n\nAnalyze large and complex datasets,identifymeaningful patterns, and communicate data-driven recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nDesign and conduct experiments, apply causal-inference methods whereappropriate, interpret results, anditerate onmodels and workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and business and traveler outcomes.\n\nSafely integrate andoperateAI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, orworkflowsandapplyingAI/ML concepts to real-world products.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Scienceor a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.\n\n2+ years of relevant professional experience.\n\nExperience applying machine learning, statistical modeling, or related quantitative methods to technical or product problems, with ownership across a service, product area, or defined technical domain from problem formulation through evaluation and delivery.\n\nStrong programming and data analysis skills, including experience with machine learning methods, model evaluation techniques, and relevant development tools.\n\nWorking knowledge of system design, low-level design, API design, and data modeling as they relate to integrating machine learning capabilities into products.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced degree in machine learning, computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\nExperience or strong domain interest in airlines, travel marketplaces, revenue management, yield management, pricing, or commercial decision science.\n\nExperience operating machine learning models or data products at scale, with attention to reliability, monitoring, maintainability, and responsible performance.\n\nPractical exposure to experimentation or causal-inference methods, such as controlled experiments, quasi-experimental designs, or treatment-effect estimation.\n\nExperience working with large datasets; familiarity with distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.\n\nAccommodation requests\nExpedia Group is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruiting experience.
