You will partner with application developers, DevOps engineers, and platform teams to ensure databases are secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective. You will combine deep database expertise with a cloud-native mindset, helping guide modernization efforts, improve performance, and establish best practices across the organization. You will report to the Director of Software Engineering.\n 7+ years of experience in database administration, application database support, or related technical roles.\nExpertise with enterprise relational database platforms and advanced SQL performance tuning.\nHands-on experience managing cloud-native database services such as Amazon Web Services RDS, Aurora Postgres, Cloud SQL, or similar technologies.\nExperience supporting high-availability production environments, including replication, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.\nKnowledge of modern application architectures, including microservices, cloud-native platforms, or distributed systems.\nExperience mentoring team members and contributing to technical discussions, standards, and database-related projects.\n\nResponsibilities\nLead the design, administration, and optimization of cloud-based application databases to ensure performance and reliability.\nPartner with engineering and platform teams to develop scalable, secure, and resilient database solutions that support our needs.\nProvide guidance on database architecture, schema design, performance tuning, and cloud-native best practices.\nManage database automation projects, including infrastructure-as-code, deployment processes, monitoring, and operational efficiency.\nTroubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term improvements to prevent recurrence.\nEstablish and promote database standards, backup and recovery strategies, security controls, and operational best practices.\n Our uniqueness is that we celebrate yours.
