As part of a strategic transformation programme, they're looking to hire a Senior Platform Engineer /Manager to help build the next generation of risk and analytical services that underpin investment decision-making across the business.\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys building robust, scalable platforms and wants to work on systems where reliability, performance and engineering excellence are critical.\nThe Opportunity\nYou'll be responsible for designing, building and operating the core platform services that power portfolio analytics, risk calculations and analytical workloads.\nWorking closely with Quantitative Developers, Data Engineers and Technology leaders, you'll develop the middle tier that connects data, models and business applications, ensuring complex calculations can be executed securely, reliably and at scale.\nThis role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership and would suit someone who enjoys solving complex platform challenges while influencing engineering standards and best practice.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nDesigning and developing scalable Python-based services and APIs.\nBuilding cloud-native platforms supporting analytical and risk workloads.\nDeveloping orchestration frameworks for batch and on-demand calculations.\nManaging containerised environments and distributed compute services.\nImplementing monitoring, observability and operational tooling.\nBuilding resilient services with fault tolerance, recovery and retry capabilities.\nCreating CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.\nEnsuring security, governance and auditability are embedded throughout the platform.\nCollaborating with model developers to productionise analytical solutions.\nProviding hands-on technical leadership and mentoring across the team.\nWhat We're Looking For\nStrong commercial experience developing enterprise applications in Python.\nExperience designing and building APIs and service-oriented architectures.\nStrong understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised deployments.\nKnowledge of job orchestration, workflow engines and message queues.\nStrong SQL and data integration experience.\nExperience building highly available, production-grade systems.\nUnderstanding of monitoring, observability and operational support.\nStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.\nDesirable Experience\nRisk systems, portfolio analytics or financial services platforms.\nLarge-scale batch processing or calculation-heavy environments.\nModel governance, version control and auditable execution frameworks.\nLeading engineering teams or mentoring technical colleagues.\nWhy Apply?\nThis is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the engineering foundations of a business-critical analytics platform.
