Currently, we are looking to add a Database Administrator (Intermediate)with a solid background in Microsoft SQL Server to join our growing CloudOps team.\nRole Description:\nAs an Explorance DBA, you will be joining the Global CloudOps Team out of our Chennai office. You will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Microsoft SQL Server database systems to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our SaaS applications. This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDatabase Administration & Implementation\nInstall, configure, administer, and maintain on-premises Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.\nConfigure, tune, and manage Azure SQL Databases and associated storage resources.\nApply data modeling techniques to support integration, scalability, and performance requirements.\nParticipate in database upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.\nEnsure high levels of database performance, availability, reliability, and security.\nHigh Availability & Disaster Recovery\nConfigure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server Always on Availability Groups and clustering solutions.\nDevelop, document, and implement backup and recovery strategies.\nEnsure disaster recovery readiness and data protection standards are maintained.\nPerformance Tuning & Optimization\nMonitor database performance and proactively identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.\nAnalyze and optimize T-SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations.\nReview deployment scripts and provide recommendations to improve performance and reliability.\nUtilize native SQL Server and 3rd party monitoring and troubleshooting tools to optimize database performance.\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement and manage database security controls, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Change Data Capture (CDC), and auditing capabilities.\nManage user access, permissions, and database security policies.\nSupport compliance with organizational security standards and best practices.\nMonitoring & Automation\nDevelop and enhance database monitoring solutions to improve visibility and operational efficiency.\nAutomate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell and other appropriate tools.\nContinuously improve database operations, maintenance procedures, and documentation.\nSupport capacity planning and resource utilization analysis.\nTroubleshooting & Support\nDiagnose and resolve production database issues in support of service-level objectives.\nSupport application development teams with database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting.\nPerform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities as required.\nFollow and participate in Explorance development standards and guidelines.\nCollaboration\nWork closely with CloudOps, Development, and Infrastructure teams to support business initiatives.\nCollaborate effectively with global teams across North America, EMEA, and APAC.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server.\nExpert-level knowledge of T-SQL.\nExperience with database performance tuning and optimization.\nExperience administering Azure SQL Database environments.\nExperience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups.\nExperience working with Windows Server and Active Directory.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to organize and plan work independently.\nResults-oriented team player with strong communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities across geographically distributed teams.\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.\nExperience with ETL processes and data integration.\nPowerShell scripting and process automation experience.\nKnowledge of Azure services such as Logic Apps, Elastic Jobs, Azure Analytics, and related services.\nExperience with PostgreSQL administration.\nExperience working with Microsoft OLAP architecture.\nExperience with database monitoring and observability solutions.\nUnderstanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.\nAbout Us\nAt Explorance, we believe that the true power of experience lies in the moments that matter, whether you're in the hiring process, advancing in your career, or navigating our technology.
