The role also contributes to compliance and regulatory requirements as needed.\nThe successful candidate will bring critical thinking, attention to detail, and a strong drive to learn while supporting our culture of care across Canada.\nThis position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.\nKey responsibilities include:\nManage general ledger accounts and prepare monthly/annual financial reports.\n\nOwn the month-end close process for balance sheet and P&L accounts.\n\nPrepare, maintain, and reconcile complex accounts.\n\nPrepare and present budget-to-actual and variance analysis to support business decisions.\n\nDrive finance process improvements through problem-solving and fresh perspective.\n\nCollaborate with business stakeholders and other finance team members.\n\nPrepare documentation to support compliance and regulatory reporting.\n\nSupport preparation of budgets and forecasts.\n\nManage auditor requests and submissions to external parties.\n\nComplete other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.\n\n1-2 years of accounting/finance experience.\n\nWorking towards CPA designation (preferred).\n\nAdvance Excel skills.\n\nExperience in identifying, investigating, analyzing, and reporting variances.\n\nExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\n\nWhat Extendicare has to offer:\nAt Extendicare, we believe that working as a team creates an environment that allows us to reach our potential.
