Working at the intersection of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and business operations, this role helps leaders make informed workforce decisions by assessing immigration-related opportunities and risks that impact recruitment, retention, workforce stability, and business continuity. The Advisor translates complex immigration requirements into practical business recommendations and partners with operational leaders to support sustainable workforce strategies across the organization.\nThis is a unique opportunity to help build and shape a newly established Immigration Operations function. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining best practices, influencing workforce strategy, and partnering leaders across the organization while gaining exposure to complex HR, workforce planningand business challenges.\nThis position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.\nKey responsibilities include:\nPartner with business leaders, HR, Talent Acquisition, Payrolland operational stakeholders tosupport recruitment, retentionand workforce planning initiatives where immigration considerations may impactbusiness outcomes.\n\nAssess employee eligibility and recommend appropriate employer-supportedimmigration pathways based on business needs and program requirements.\n\nIdentifyworkforce continuity risks and develop mitigation strategies related to work authorization, permitexpiries, recruitmentand retention initiatives.\n\nAnalyze workforce demographics and immigration-related data to identifytrends, workforce risksand opportunities to support proactive workforce planning.\n\nDevelop reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to support business leaders in understanding workforce composition, permitexpiry risks, retention considerationsand immigration program utilization\n\nConduct NOC, wageand employment-condition assessments to support immigration applications and program compliance.\n\nReview and provide quality assurance on immigration applications, documentationand case strategies to ensure accuracy and alignment with program requirements.\n\nAct as an escalation point for complex immigration matters and provide recommendations on risk management and business impact.\n\nDevelop and maintainimmigration-related processes, tools, policies, training materialsand operational guidance documentation.\n\nMonitor immigration program changes and translate regulatory requirements into practical business recommendations.\n\nShare subject matter expertisewith other HR and operational stakeholders through training, education, and consultation.\n\nComplete other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat we’relooking for:\nPost-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, Immigration, Law, Public Administration, or a relatedfield.\n\n4+ years of experience in HRadvisory, workforce planning, talent acquisition,employee relations,immigration operations, global mobility, compliance, or other business partnering role requiring stakeholder consultation and risk assessmentrelated advisory capacity.\n\nDemonstrated experience partnering with business leaders and providing guidance on complex people, workforce, or operational matters.\n\nStrong business acumen with the ability to assess risk,balance competing priorities, and influencedecisions.\n\nProven ability totranslate complex technical information into practical business-focused recommendations.\n\nExperience analyzing data, and using insights to support workforce planning and operational decision-making\n\nAdvanced proficiencywith Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and comfort leveragingAI-enabled tools and technology.\n\nExceptional communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.\n\nProven ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively across multiple functions.\n\nImmigration, global mobility, or temporary foreign worker program experience is considered an asset.\n\nRCIC designation, immigration consulting experience, Workday knowledge, or workforce strategy experience are considered assets.\n\nWhat Extendicare has to offer:\nAt Extendicare, we believe that working as a team creates an environment that allows us to reach our potential.
