This includes nursing, support services, administration, and program services. As a valued member of Long-Term Care Services, you will demonstrate a commitment to resident safety by providing quality services in accordance with the organization’s mission and vision. Responsibilities may include resident specific programming, companionship, portering, light resident housekeeping and laundry tasks, meal service, and clerical. This position assumes an active role in the infection prevention and control program and assists with the orientation of new staff as required.\nRESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS\nGrade 12 Diploma\nExperience with an older adult population an asset\nStrong customer and resident service skills. Experience in a high paced customer service setting an asset\nFlexible and willingness to learn new tasks\nAbility to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities\nExcellent interpersonal and oral communication skills\nAbility to read, write, and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset)\nAbility to work well independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment\nAdheres to established department policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control\nParticipates in facility meetings and attends in-service education programs as assigned\nKnowledge or willingness to learn environmental cleaning, laundry, and related processes including assisting residents with organizing and tidying their room, supporting with meals, 1:1 recreational activity, sorting and labelling resident items.\nAbility to stand, walk, squat, reach, lift for significant periods throughout the shift.\nAbility to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures\n Time Type:\nPart timeWhen you choose to build your career with Extendicare, you’re joining a team dedicated to making a difference.
