The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing the company’s reputation through the development and implementation of effective media relations strategies.\nThis role involves leading proactive and reactive media engagements, identifying topics that will resonate in the media, networking with media outlets, crafting compelling messages, drafting statements and press releases, and coordinating media events.\nWhat you will do\nDevelop and implement media plans that enhance the company’s reputation and contribute to business outcomes.\nInterface often with journalists, editors, and media outlets.\nPrepare briefing documents, press disclosures, media advisories, and other communications materials.\nCoordinate and manage media events, including press conferences, interviews, and media tours.\nMonitor media coverage and provide regular reports to senior management.\nRespond to media inquiries and act as the company’s spokesperson when necessary.\nCollaborate with other teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communications channels.\nStay up to date with energy industry trends and best practices in media relations.\nAbout you\nSkills and Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in a media relations or related role, and 5 years of experience in government or with a trade group that works on industry issues.\nExceptional writing and editing skills with experience in AP style.\nStrong interpersonal skills and extensive professional network in media circles.\nAbility to interpret technical subjects and conveying them in an accessible manner to a diverse audience.\nInfluential communicator, capable of persuading and guiding without direct authority.\nQuick comprehension and articulation of complex topics.\nKeen interest and understanding of matters pertaining to energy, economics, the environment, corporate responsibility, and government affairs.\nProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.\nProven ability to identify and manage opportunities and risks.\nA track record managing complex, high-stakes issues for a major company.\nA proactive, collaborative mindset, cultural sensitivity, and familiarity with the dynamics of a vast, global enterprise.\nYour benefits\nAn ExxonMobil career is one designed to last. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education. \nPension Plan: Enrollment is automatic and at no cost to you. The basic benefit is a monthly annuity to be paid to you in retirement for the rest of your life\nSavings Plan: You can contribute between 6% and 20% of your pay and are encouraged to enroll right away.
