We invite you to bring your ideas and help create sustainable solutions that improve quality of life and meet society’s evolving needs.\nWhat role you will play on our team\nWe are seeking Chemical and/or Process Engineers to join us as a Technical Contact Engineer for our manufacturing site in Nanticoke, ON.\nOur Technical Contact Engineers play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plant and are responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, reliability, and profitability in a dynamic team environment. You will think strategically, execute thoughtfully, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. In this role, you will serve as a process technical resource, providing technical and operational expertise to address complex processes across business teams, primarily supporting day-to-day unit operation troubleshooting and optimization along with supporting the senior technical resources within the team in developing and executing longer-term strategic initiatives.\nWhat you will do\nCollaborate with multiple stakeholders including operations, other engineering disciplines, mechanical personnel, and corporate technology support teams to support safe and reliable unit operations\nProvide support of abnormal and non-routine operations, including unit Turnarounds and supporting incident investigations tied to unit abnormal operations\nSupport senior technical resources and cross functional teams to identify, develop, and implement operational and facility improvements with focus on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability\nOrganize and design plant testing and product trials \nInfluence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority \nDemonstrate flexibility to take on responsibilities beyond the defined role to support asset performance and business results\nAbility to interface effectively with corporate networks, corporate communities of practice, and 3rd party vendors in developing and sharing good practices and improvement initiatives\nProvide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns or upsets \nDemonstrate courage of conviction to drive healthy tension for both business team and corporate technology support to promote fit for purpose outcome\nSupport routine energy, environmental, and cost reporting\nAbout you\nSkills and Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, as certified by an accredited/recognized institution\n3+ years of experience in refining and/or chemicals manufacturing roles\nDemonstrated leadership and strong academic skills \nValid driver’s license\nPreferred Qualifications/ Experience\nHigh degree of analytical and technical ability\nAbility to communicate complex technical data clearly, tailored to intended audience\nStrong attention to detail with handling high quantity and quality of work\nAbility to effectively influence others without direct authority\nStrong interpersonal effectiveness\nProcess design exposure\nFamiliarity with advanced control strategies/optimization software \nRisk assessment and HAZOP experience \nUnderstanding of safety relief limits (modelling and evaluations) \nUnderstanding of modelling software (PROII, ASPEN, etc)\nYour Benefits\nAn Imperial career is one designed to last.
