This is a full-time basis role and is based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the delivery of end-to-end data science projects, including data acquisition, feature engineering, modeling, evaluation, and deployment.\n\nCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into analytical solutions.\n\nDesign and develop machine learning models, including generative models such as LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMA) for applications like text summarization, content generation, document intelligence, and chatbots.\n\nGuide clients in the adoption of AI/ML strategies, including the responsible use of GenAI in business processes.\n\nBuild and manage reusable ML pipelines and support MLOps practices to operationalize models.\n\nMentor junior data scientists and contribute to capability building within the team.\n\nStay current with developments in AI/ML and GenAI technologies, tools, and best practices.\n\nPresent findings and insights in a clear, compelling way to business and technical audiences.\n\nSkills and Attributes for Success:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.\n\nProficiency in Python or R, with hands-on experience using libraries such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.\n\nExperience building and fine-tuning GenAI models using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or integrating APIs from OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or other foundation model providers.\n\nSolid understanding of NLP, deep learning, and data modeling techniques.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\n\nTo qualify for the role, you must have:\nA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.\n\nFor Senior Associate: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in data science or AI projects.\n\nFor Manager to Senior Managers: 6+ years of experience, with a proven track record of project leadership, client engagement, and team management.\n\nDemonstrated experience applying both traditional ML and GenAI in real-world business use cases.\n\nExperience working with large language models (LLMs) and/or vector databases is a strong advantage.\n\nIdeally, you’ll also have:\nCertifications in AI/ML (e.g., Azure AI Engineer Associate, AWS Machine Learning Specialty).\n\nExperience with responsible AI practices, explainability, and AI ethics.\n\nPrevious consulting or client-facing experience, ideally in cross-industry engagements.\n\nWhat we look for\nExperience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders\nStrong consulting experience and background, including engaging directly with clients\nTeam management on Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data projects\nWhat we offer\nEY offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with your work experience where you’ll be rewarded for your individual and team performance.
