Each team contributes reusable tools and practices, helping make the next service faster and less costly to build.\nYour key responsibilities\nDefine experience principles, interaction architecture, and reusable patterns for AI-assisted and agentic products.\nConduct workflow research and usability testing with diverse users, including people who use assistive technologies.\nBuild high-fidelity prototypes and accessible production components for the product’s web, application, conversational, or multimodal surfaces.\nTranslate user intent into interaction specifications for clarification, uncertainty, memory, personalization, permissions, and action boundaries.\nMake plans, progress, evidence, tool activity, costs, and outcomes legible without overwhelming users.\nDesign controls for preview, approval, interruption, edit, undo, retry, escalation, and human takeover.\nMeasure task completion, effort, correction burden, recovery, and trust calibration; partner with AI, platform, security, and evaluation specialists to improve the whole experience.\nSkills and attributes for success\nStrong human-AI interaction judgment across complex, asynchronous workflows, balancing usability, transparency, and human control.\nInformation design skills that communicate uncertainty, sources, permissions, and system state clearly.\nAbility to carry design intent into production under realistic latency, streaming, and model variability.\nResearch judgment combining qualitative insight, behavioral data, and experiments to guide product decisions.\nCollaborative communication across design, engineering, product, and control specialists.\nTo qualify you must have\n7+ years of relevant and applicable experience\nBachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study\nA portfolio of shipped interaction design, design engineering, frontend engineering, or HCI work showing both thinking and implementation.\nProduction proficiency in modern web or application technologies, delivering responsive, performant components.\nExperience designing for AI, search, recommendation, automation, or another adaptive system.\nPractical command of semantic UI, WCAG, WAI-ARIA, keyboard interaction, and assistive-technology testing.\nExperience extending reusable component libraries and supporting adoption across product teams.\nTravel and On-site requirements: This role requires up to 50% travel and flexibility to go into the office in a hybrid capacity. \nIdeally, you’ll also have\nExperience with agentic interfaces, long-running tasks, or human-in-the-loop workflows.\nExperience building streaming, real-time, or multimodal interactions across devices or languages.\nContributions to inclusive research, cognitive accessibility, open-source design systems, or human-AI interaction practice.\nWe welcome exceptional candidates from product, service design, operations, transformation, policy, domain, and entrepreneurial backgrounds; no particular degree or certification is required.\nWhat we offer you\nAt EY, we harness our collective strength to empower you to shape your future with confidence through professional growth, personal fulfillment and an inclusive culture. The base salary range for this job is: \nNew York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices - $150,700 to $251,200\nBay Area California offices - $157,100 to $261,600\nAll other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $125,500 to $230,200\n\nIndividual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
