We are a growing practice that has the resources to serve any client, anywhere in the world.\nThis job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.\nYour key responsibilities:\nAs an Associate (Manager), you will have the opportunity to be involved in the execution of the M&A process, from deal sourcing to closure. The role of an Associate (Manager) within EY’s M&A group is challenging and fast paced, that requires dedication and a strong work ethic. Your key responsibilities will include:\nPerform market research and analysis, including analysis of key business drivers and market, competition and industry risk and opportunity analysis.\nSynthesize research information such as comparable company and precedent transactions to be used in modeling, competitive analysis, industry analysis, potential buyers, negotiation support and various other applications.\nPrepare detailed financial models, including scenario analysis.\nPrepare valuation analysis using a range of valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow analysis, comparable market multiples and precedent transaction analysis. \nPrepare quality first drafts of pitches, marketing materials, management presentations and client presentations.\nOversee an electronic data room and manage a due diligence process for buy and sell side engagements, working closely with client and target personnel.\nProvide strategic advice to clients across a range of industries and transactions.\nSupport the VPs and SVPs in identifying and exploring potential new business.\nSkills and attributes for success\nWe are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, analytical, logical thinkers with a passion for transactions and have a very strong attention to detail. Being a strong team player is critical with the ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines in support of our clients’ goals.\nTo be successful in this role, you should have the following attributes:\nThis role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role.\nWorking knowledge of the Canadian and International Finance and Accounting concepts and understanding of key business drivers, principally as they relate to M&A transactions.\nStrong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling skills.\nAbility to work independently to complete tasks.\nAn ability to work well under pressure with multiple competing deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail.\nAbility to develop relationships and liaison with EY colleagues and team members to achieve premium outcomes for our clients.\nA “roll up the sleeves” attitude.\nA passion for working with entrepreneurs and private business owners and management teams.\nTo qualify for the role, you must have\nUndergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or another similar program.\nMinimum 4+ years of relevant work experience (e.g. Investment banking, M&A, financing, corporate development, financial analysis, etc.).\n\nIdeally, you’ll also have\nA professional designation, such as the:\nCPA designation;\nCBV designation or progress towards the completion of the CBV program of studies; or\nCFA designation or progress towards the completion of the CFA program of studies\nWhat we offer you\nWe offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.
