Co-design and deliver brands, products and services that create value and differentiation for customers, employees and for businesses.\nThe opportunity\nWe are looking for a Senior Innovation and Experience Designer to join our Studio+ GDS Poland team and lead digital product design across Customer Experience Strategy, UX, and UI -with particular ownership of design systems delivery and AI capability across our design pipeline. You will lead designers and engagements from discovery through delivery, mentor senior craft, and stay close enough to the work to still design on flagship engagements yourself.\nThis role sits at the intersection of craft leadership and design operations. You set the bar for design quality, design and govern the systems that hold that bar inside client engagements, and grow the team’s AI fluency so we deliver faster and better.\nYour key responsibilities\nLead designers across multiple engagements -mentoring, allocating talent, developing senior craft, and shaping team culture through coaching, feedback, and growth conversations.\nStay hands-on as a player-coach: design directly on flagship engagements, set the visual and interaction standard through your own work, and use that proximity to coach the team.\nArchitect and govern client design systems on engagements -foundations, component libraries, tokens, documentation, adoption strategy, and contribution models that survive after we leave.\nBuild the team’s AI capability across the design pipeline: bring strong personal fluency with AI tools and translate it into shared workflows, and standards for the team.\nLead end-to-end design delivery on flagship engagements: discovery, research, workshops, concept design, prototyping, testing, launch, and optimization -directing the work and contributing to it.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, product, BA, and delivery teams to ensure design systems are buildable, governance is realistic, and AI workflows translate into production value.\nContribute to Studio+ practice growth -proposals, hiring, capability development, and shaping how we sell and deliver design systems and AI-enabled design work.\nSkills and attributes for success\nProficiency in design thinking, lean UX, and modern agile delivery; able to flex methodology to context.\nCommercial acumen, able to shape proposals, scope engagements, and translate design value into business outcomes.\nOpen mind, comfort with ambiguity, and an appetite for continuous learning as the design and AI landscape evolves\nAbility to employ latest Agile & Lean UX methods and work with Business, Project & Development, BA teams to create and deliver Design, UI & UX offerings.\nStrong personal fluency with AI tools across the design pipeline, plus a track record of translating that fluency into team-level workflows and standards.\nDeep experience designing and governing design systems inside client engagements - multi-product, multi-brand, or complex platform contexts.\nStrong grasp of design operations: structure, roles, rituals, governance, and the mechanics that make design teams scale.\nUnderstanding the limitations of client/ internal tech stacks, ecosystems or business model and provide design advice where necessary.\nTo qualify for the role, you must have\nFull working proficiency in English (oral and written).\n3+ years of hands-on experience in UX/UI.\nStrong portfolio showcasing your UX/UI design work.\nProven experience designing and governing design systems on client or in-house engagements.\nDemonstrable experience integrating AI tools into your own design workflow and into team practice.\nStrong portfolio showcasing UX/UI work, design systems, and leadership impact.\nExpert-level proficiency in Figma, including variables, libraries, and advanced component architecture.\nEnd-to-end experience designing mobile and web applications.\nIdeally, you’ll also have\nIndustry experience in Health, Insurance, Public Sector, or Banking and Finance.\nExperience leading or contributing to a design ops function.\nTrack record of introducing AI workflows or tooling into a design organization.\nKnowledge of user research, usability testing, analytics, and design metrics\nWhat we look for\nPeople with commercial acumen, design leadership instincts, and the curiosity to push how design, design systems, and AI work together - comfortable stepping out of their comfort zone, and building strong relationships with partners across cultures.\nWhat we offer\nEY Global Delivery Services (GDS) is a dynamic and truly global delivery network.
