You will balance your time between directly liaising with our clients to understand their situation and create an appropriate investigation plan to perform technical review and analysis of data. This will include investigating what happened and helping the client to determine the potential impact and how the company’s data was potentially misused. You will be helping clients assess and resolve insider threats on an ongoing basis for multiple clients at a time. That means thinking differently about the type of data misuse, identifying malicious insiders, improving the client’s data integrity, investigation methodology and mitigate privacy risks.\nSkills and attributes for success\nDesire to constantly develop your understanding of our clients’ industries, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement\nUnderstanding of multiple technologies to distribute your knowledge of leading practices to enhance service delivery\nAbility to develop your team through constant coaching and feedback, knowledge and opportunities to grow\nExperience in large scale, complex investigations, using techniques such as digital forensics, log analysis and timeline creation have been applied\nAbility to communicate technical events and analysis to both technical and nontechnical audiences and an understanding of the potential legal impacts\nAbility to preserve network and host-based digital evidence in an industry accepted forensically sound manner\nExperience performing host-based digital forensics on Microsoft Windows and Mac based systems using both Windows and Linux based forensic tools\nExperience performing mobile-based digital forensics on Apple and Android based systems\nTo qualify for the role you must have\nA bachelor's degree in business, technology entrepreneurship, computer science, informatics, statistics, applied mathematics, data science or related field\n1+ years relevant work experience\nAchieved, or be working towards a professional designation, such as CFE, CFCE, RCA or EnCE \nEffective project and time management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements\nThe ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary\nAccess to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations\nIdeally, you’ll also have\nIn-depth understanding of computer forensic principles including digital and mobile forensics, log analysis, cloud-based systems, database structures, querying languages and common digital forensics tools\nKnowledge of data loss prevention systems and how they detect potential host and network-based data loss technologies or other insider threat risks\nKnowledge of Windows, Unix and Mac host-based forensics, Mobile OS’s and command line\nGlobal client network, experience working with fortune 500 companies, international and frequent travel opportunities\nWorking knowledge of hardware configuration and network/data communications, software development and scripting, and database technology and database exploitation/forensics\nExperience with evidence seizure, chain of custody and conducting analysis\nWhat we look for\nWe’re interested in passionate analysts, with the intellectual curiosity to actively pursue new knowledge in the rapidly changing world of digital forensics. The base salary range for this job is: \nNew York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices - $77,500 to $116,300\nBay Area California offices - $80,800 to $121,100\nAll other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $64,600 to $106,600\n\nIndividual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
