We are looking for an experienced Global Markets professional who can bring deep product knowledge, strong technical judgement and commercial insight to our clients.\nAbout the opportunity\nAs part of our Financial Services Banking team, you will advise clients on complex Global Markets matters across financial instruments, valuations, accounting and risk. You will lead high-quality engagements, work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to the growth of our banking and capital markets offering.\nClient responsibilities\nLead and deliver complex Global Markets engagements across banking and capital markets\nAdvise clients on financial instrument valuations, technical accounting and related control considerations\nAssess valuation methodologies, models, market data and key assumptions across relevant asset classes\nProvide technical guidance on IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and other applicable accounting and regulatory requirements\nIdentify, evaluate and communicate key engagement risks, findings and practical recommendations\nManage engagement economics, timelines, quality and resourcing, and keep partners and clients informed of significant matters\nBuild trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across front office, finance, risk, treasury and internal audit\nSupport business development by identifying client needs, developing solutions and contributing to proposals\nCoach and develop team members while promoting collaboration, professional scepticism and high-quality delivery\nContribute to the continued development of EY’s Global Markets capabilities, methodologies and market profile\nQualifications and experience\nCA(SA) qualification; CFA or a relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous\nStrong Global Markets or Corporate and Investment Banking experience gained within a bank, professional services firm or comparable institution\nPreferably five to eight years of relevant post-qualification experience\nDemonstrated experience with financial instruments, valuations and technical accounting\nPractical knowledge of Global Markets products, including derivatives, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities or equities\nExperience working with leading banking institutions and senior stakeholders\nA sound understanding of market, credit, liquidity, model and operational risk within a Global Markets environment\nStrong leadership, project management, communication and commercial skills\nTechnical skills requirements\nAdvanced knowledge of IFRS 9 and IFRS 13, including classification, measurement, fair-value hierarchy and disclosures\nStrong understanding of valuation techniques for complex financial instruments and derivatives\nAbility to assess models, data sources, assumptions, valuation adjustments and independent price verification processes\nKnowledge of trading products, front-to-back processes and the control environment supporting Global Markets activities\nUnderstanding of relevant prudential, conduct and financial reporting requirements affecting banks\nAbility to interpret complex information and present clear, practical recommendations to senior stakeholders\nProficiency in analysing large data sets and using technology-enabled approaches to improve engagement delivery\nAdditional requirements\nA strong academic record and relevant degree\nProven success leading teams and managing multiple priorities in a complex environment\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage executive-level stakeholders\nA collaborative, solutions-focused approach and commitment to quality\nWhat working at EY offers\nWe offer competitive, performance-based compensation that recognises the value you bring to our business and programmes that support your physical and social well-being.
