The Transition Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex transitions, ensuring minimal disruption, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines and budgets.\nYour key responsibilities\nExtensive experience (10+ years) in transition management, project management and transformational initiatives within a large-scale, global environment.\nAn ideal candidate must have managed and executed large multi country, multi service, complex implementations.\nDevelop and execute detailed transition plans, including risk assessments, resource allocation, communication strategies, and milestone tracking.\nWork with cross-functional teams to ensure all transition activities are completed on schedule and in alignment with client requirements.\nFacilitate knowledge transfer and process documentation to ensure operational continuity.\nMonitor and report on transition progress, proactively identifying and resolving issues or bottlenecks.\nEngage with stakeholders at all levels, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations throughout the transition lifecycle.\nSkills and Attributes for Success\n10+ years of professional experience in transition management, with a proven track record of successfully managing transitions and transformations in Finance or/and Tax.\nExpertise in identifying and mitigating risks during transitions, and the ability to develop robust transition strategies and contingency plans.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with experience in coordinating between clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and operational handover.\nAbility to work independently, prioritise multiple transition projects, and adapt to dynamic environments while maintaining high quality standards.\nCore Capabilities\nHighly motivated and results-driven, ensuring seamless service transition\nExceptional organisational skills, adept at multitasking and prioritising transition tasks\nExcellent presentation and communication skills for stakeholder engagement\nQuality-focused mindset ensuring high standards throughout transition phases\nFunctional Capabilities\nComprehensive understanding of transition lifecycle methodologies, project planning, and execution across multiple domains and business functions.\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics for tracking transition progress, resource allocation, and reporting key metrics.\nExperience with transition management tools and platforms, preferably with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Project plan or similar project management systems.\nUnderstanding of and ability to identify opportunities to deploy AI based solutions to improve quality of Transition Management\nTo qualify for the role, you must have\nOverall professional experience of 10+ yrs, with client facing experience of at least 3 years\nExperience leading medium sized Client facing Transitions\nExperience in managing transitions for Finance (Tax/F&A), Banking scope, other Big 4\nProject management certification preferred (e.g., PMI - PMP, PMI - ACP, Agile certifications, Prince2, Six sigma certifications, Safe/ Scrum certifications)\nIdeally, you’ll also have\nProven creative thinking and ability to identify and resolve transition challenges\nSelf-motivated and proactive in managing transition activities\nExperience engaging professionally with diverse cultures and international teams, working across time zones as required\nAbility to manage multiple transition projects/activities simultaneously\nPeople manager, experienced in coaching and developing people, and in establishing a collaborative environment based on trust, open communication, innovation, and teamwork\nWhat we look for\nExperience with managed services transition tools and methodologies\nExperience with managing multiple Transitions and Transformation projects\nDemonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships\nExpertise in cost optimisation and resource management during transitions\nWhat we offer\nEY Global Delivery Services (GDS) is a dynamic and truly global delivery network.
