The role will provide engineering, operational support, automation and lifecycle management for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI environments and associated technologies. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge infrastructure technologies with a specific focus on virtualization, clustering, storage, security, resiliency and automation.\nYour key responsibilities\nThe I&O Platform Infrastructure Hyperconverged Infrastructure Specialist provides technical support and engineering of complex nature for the firm's Azure Stack HCI platforms and associated infrastructure services. This professional applies knowledge of Windows Server, Failover Clustering, Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), Azure Stack HCI, networking and virtualization technologies to support enterprise-scale workloads.\nThe role requires in-depth knowledge of the firm's infrastructure to implement platform enhancements, lifecycle management activities, patching programs, security initiatives and operational improvements. The engineer will assist in maintaining highly available HCI environments across global data center locations while ensuring compliance, resiliency and operational excellence.\nSkills and attributes for success\nLarge-scale Windows Server Systems Administration experience.\nStrong experience administering Microsoft Azure Stack HCI platforms.\nDeep knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering technologies.\nStrong Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) design, administration and troubleshooting experience (exclusionary).\nExperience maintaining mission-critical production systems running in a data center environment (exclusionary).\nExperience supporting hyperconverged infrastructure environments.\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies.\nExperience performing lifecycle management, upgrades and patching of HCI clusters.\nExperience with Cluster Aware Updating (CAU).\nGood networking knowledge including:VLANs\nNIC Teaming\nSwitch Embedded Teaming (SET)\nRDMA\nSMB Direct\nData Center Bridging\n\nExperience with PowerShell automation and scripting.\nAbility to create technical documentation and operational procedures.\nKnowledge of Azure hybrid management capabilities.\nStrong working knowledge of DevOps, Agile, Kanban, SCRUM and ITIL frameworks.\nAbility to work effectively with clients, management and global engineering teams.\nTo qualify for the role, you must have experience with\nMicrosoft Azure Stack HCI administration and support - 5-7 years.\nMicrosoft Windows Server 2019/2022/2025 administration - 5-7 years.\nWindows Failover Clustering administration and troubleshooting - 5-7 years.\nStorage Spaces Direct (S2D) design, support and operational management - 5-7 years.\nHyper-V virtualization administration - 5-7 years.\nCluster deployment, expansion and lifecycle management - 5-7 years.\nCluster Aware Updating (CAU) implementation and administration.\nHost Guardian Service (HGS) administration.\nShielded Virtual Machine deployment and management.\nSecured-Core Server technologies.\nPowerShell scripting and automation - 5-7 years.\nFirmware, driver and hardware lifecycle management.\nServer patching and maintenance management.\nNetworking for HCI environments including:RDMA\nSMB Direct\nQoS\nSET\nVLANs\nData Center Bridging\n\nTroubleshooting cluster performance, storage latency and resiliency issues.\nStorage enclosure and disk management.\nAzure Arc and Azure hybrid services integration.\nDisaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning for HCI platforms.\nSecurity hardening and vulnerability remediation of Windows Server platforms.\nVMware to Azure Stack HCI migration projects (preferred).\nIdeally, you'll also have\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Stack HCI certification (desired).\nMicrosoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (desired).\nMicrosoft Azure Administrator certification (desired).\nMicrosoft Azure Solutions Architect certification (better to have).\nITIL v4 Foundation certification (exclusionary).\nCertified Kubernetes Administrator certification (better to have).\nExperience working with Dell AX nodes, Lenovo ThinkAgile, HPE or similar HCI platforms.\nExperience with Azure Local and future Azure Stack HCI roadmap technologies.\nWhat we look for\nAn experienced and talented infrastructure engineer to help build, maintain and modernize EY's Hyperconverged Infrastructure platforms.
