EY Risk Consulting is expanding its AI Governance and Responsible AI practice, and we are looking for a manager who can bridge AI technology, risk management, and governance to create meaningful impact for our clients.\nIn this client facing role, you will work with global organizations to operationalize Responsible AI, design and assess AI governance frameworks, evaluate AI/ML risks at a use case level, and test the effectiveness of controls. You will help clients move from high level AI principles to real, on the ground implementation, backed by robust risk assessments, root cause analysis, and actionable recommendations.\nThe role\nAs a Manager within Risk Consulting - AI Governance, you will lead complex engagements at the intersection of risk management, AI/ML, and Responsible AI. You will advise clients on how AI principles (fairness, transparency, accountability, safety, robustness, privacy) are embedded across the AI lifecycle and how governance, controls, and assurance mechanisms are established and tested.\nThis role is ideal for professionals who either:\nBring strong Risk Management experience with Responsible AI, OR\nHave hands on AI/ML experience with Responsible AI operationalization, including root cause analysis and solutioning.\nYour key responsibilities\nClient Advisory & Delivery\nLead and deliver AI Governance and Responsible AI engagements, ensuring high quality outcomes within timelines and budgets.\nAdvise clients on embedding Responsible AI principles across the AI lifecycle-from ideation and design to deployment and monitoring.\nDesign, assess, and implement AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.\nPerform AI use case-level risk assessments, identifying ethical, regulatory, operational, model, data, and technology risks.\nDefine risk and control matrices (RCMs) for AI/ML systems aligned to leading frameworks and regulations.\nTest the design and operating effectiveness of AI controls, including governance, model risk, data, security, and monitoring controls.\nConduct root cause analysis for AI-related issues and incidents and guide clients on practical remediation solutions.\nDevelop clear, actionable recommendations and executive ready reports for senior stakeholders.\nResponsible AI & Technology\nSupport clients in operationalizing Responsible AI beyond principles-into processes, controls, tools, and metrics.\nAssess AI/ML systems including traditional ML and Generative AI / Agentic AI applications.\nGuide clients on model risk management, human in the loop controls, explainability, bias mitigation, and monitoring.\nStay current on evolving AI regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, OECD).\nStakeholder & Team Leadership\nManage day to day client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.\nLead, mentor, and develop team members; review work products and provide constructive feedback.\nActively contribute to practice growth, solution development, thought leadership, and go to market initiatives.\nSkills and attributes for success\nStrong understanding of AI risks, Responsible AI principles, and AI governance.\nAbility to translate complex AI concepts into practical risk and control solutions.\nExperience performing use case driven risk assessments and control testing.\nExcellent client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.\nClear, concise, and confident written and verbal communication.\nStrong project management skills, including planning, tracking, and risk management.\nCurious, technology enthusiastic mindset with a passion for continuous learning.\nStructured thinking, problem solving ability, and attention to detail.\nTo qualify for the role, you must have\n5+ years of experience in Risk Advisory, AI Risk, Technology Risk, Internal Audit, or AI/ML roles within Big 4 or comparable consulting/technology environments.\nHands on Responsible AI implementation experience (non negotiable)-either from a risk/governance or AI/ML execution perspective.\nProven experience in one or more of the following:AI Risk Management & Governance\nResponsible AI operationalization\nAI/ML model risk assessments\nRoot cause analysis and remediation design\n\nStrong understanding of AI systems, data pipelines, and AI deployment lifecycles.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field.\nGood to have\nProfessional certifications such as AIGP, ISO 42001, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, ISO 27001, or similar.\nWorking knowledge of Python, ML concepts, or AI tooling to assess implementations effectively.\nWhat we look for\nProfessionals who
