JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Assurance Engineer
Security Implementation & Integration Quality Assurance | Enterprise Security Program
Experience
- 5 - 9 yrs experience
Employment type
Full-time
Working model
Global collaboration; flexible hours as needed
Role overview
We are looking for a proactive and quality-focused QA Engineer to support information security implementation and integration projects. The ideal candidate brings strong IT fundamentals, a disciplined approach to delivery, and a genuine commitment to learning. Direct QA or security-testing experience is valuable, but transferable experience from any IT domain is welcome when supported by the right mindset, ownership, and attention to detail.
What matters most: ownership, reliability, learning agility, collaboration, and consistent follow-through.
Key responsibilities
- Quality planning and delivery: Understand project requirements, risks, and acceptance criteria; translate them into practical test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases, and data.
- Test execution: Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing across project releases; maintain clear traceability to requirements.
- Defect management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through closure; provide concise evidence and work constructively with delivery teams on resolution.
- Security-focused validation: Support testing of security-related solutions and integrations, including negative scenarios, access controls, data handling, and agreed security requirements.
- Automation and efficiency: Contribute to reusable automated tests, test-data management, and integration of suitable tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Quality governance: Follow agreed QA standards, maintain audit-ready evidence, and contribute to quality metrics, status reporting, and release-readiness decisions.
- Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, operations, information security, and vendor teams across locations and time zones.
- Continuous improvement: Actively identify gaps, suggest pragmatic improvements, share knowledge, and strengthen team practices.
Mindset and behaviours
- Ownership and accountability: Takes responsibility for outcomes, follows through on commitments, and raises risks early.
- Commitment and reliability: Demonstrates consistent effort, discipline, and dependability, especially during critical delivery periods.
- Learning agility: Quickly understands unfamiliar technologies, business processes, and security concepts; actively seeks and applies feedback.
- Quality mindset: Looks beyond happy-path validation, asks thoughtful questions, and focuses on preventing defects rather than only detecting them.
- Collaboration and respect: Communicates clearly, works well with diverse stakeholders, and contributes to a supportive, high-performing team environment.
- Pragmatic problem solving: Uses evidence and sound judgement to balance risk, speed, and quality.
Required qualifications and capabilities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience. Experience may come from software development, application support, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business analysis, operations, testing, or a comparable technology role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand requirements, identify risk, and communicate findings clearly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to organize work, manage priorities, meet commitments, and operate effectively with appropriate guidance.
- High attention to detail and a demonstrable commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality outcomes.
Preferred experience
- Hands-on experience in software testing, test management, defect management, or quality engineering.
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum delivery and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with APIs, databases, web applications, integrations, or cloud-based solutions.
- Exposure to test automation frameworks, scripting, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Awareness of information security principles, security testing approaches, vulnerability management, or secure development practices.
- Experience working with distributed teams, vendor partners, or global stakeholders.
Typical deliverables
- Test strategy or test approach aligned to project risk and scope.
- Test plans, scenarios, cases, scripts, test data, and requirement traceability.
- Clear defect records with reproducible steps and supporting evidence.
- Test execution results, quality metrics, risk summaries, and release-readiness input.
- Automation assets and reusable QA documentation, where applicable.
How success will be measured
- Consistent delivery against agreed commitments and quality standards.
- Clear, accurate, and timely reporting of progress, defects, dependencies, and risks.
- Effective collaboration and constructive challenge within cross-functional teams.
- Growth in domain knowledge, QA capability, and ability to work with increasing independence.
- Meaningful improvement in test coverage, repeatability, and team efficiency.
Why join this team
This role offers the opportunity to build deeper quality-engineering and information-security expertise while contributing to business-critical initiatives. You will work with global stakeholders, learn across technologies and platforms, and help shape practical QA practices in a team that values accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
