We do pay mileage reimbursement!\nPay: Pay starts at $21/hr, but we can go higher depending on experience\nPerks:\nFull Benefits Package - Medical, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance\n401k + Employer Matching\nPaid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays\nCompetitive Base Pay\nOptical Education Reimbursement\nPaid Maternity Leave\nEmployee Discounts\nHours:\nFull Time\nOur office is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 8am-1pm \nYou may have to work a little earlier/later as needed\nSUMMARY\nAn Optical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions for their assigned Optical and Contact Lens department, ensuring that office policies, procedures and plans are executed in a smooth and expeditious manner; performing financial oversight, office and insurance administration and personnel management duties. \nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \nPerforms necessary tasks for excellent patient care and assisting the Doctor(s) in the operation of the Optical department. \nProvides leadership, guidance and expertise to all staff members. \nConducts quarterly discussions with each employee to document on the Annual Evaluation. \nHolds staff accountable for performance expectations. \nProvides input on hiring, termination and job assignments of staff. \nOrientates new employees to the office and insures they receive on-the-job training in their assigned position. \nEffectively communicates organization activities to the entire staff. \nEstablishes a high-performance team that is efficient, knowledgeable and service-oriented, sharing responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice. \nImplements all operational systems including: Employee Manual, Scheduling and Telephone System. \nProcesses and coordinates patient/insurance collections. \nProcedure titled \"processing daily and weekly reports\", to ensure all reports are ran, reviewed and action taken when necessary. \nEnsures insurance verification process is completed. \nMaximizes electronic claim submissions to insurance companies. \nPrepares for secondary insurance submissions. \nOrganizes and provides agenda and holds monthly staff meetings. \nAttends company training events to include quarterly Supervisory Training. \nAdheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliable\nManagement and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function\nCommunication, interpersonal and negotiation skills\nAbility to follow or provide verbal and written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling\nskills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence\nAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization\nKnowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA\nGuidelines\nFavorable result on background check as required by state \nMust be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States \nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE \nHigh school diploma or GED required\nMinimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience\nOptical and contact lens experience preferred \nTwo years of Supervisory experience preferred\nComputer skills and good oral communication required \nStrong leadership background \nLICENSES AND CREDENTIALS \nCurrent ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment) preferred, but not required\nSYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY \nProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook \nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS \nThis role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25-50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity-including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus-is required 100% of the time.
