It’s an excellent workplace for professionals who value patient comfort, safety, and streamlined surgical care in a collaborative setting.\nPosition Summary\nPremier is currently hiring a full-time Central Processing Technician for their Erie, PA location. Responsible for instrument decontamination, sterile processing, instrument care and handling and documentation, record keeping, and assisting with inventory management related to those activities. Serves as support personnel assisting providers and other personnel as needed, and other collateral duties.\nResponsibilities\nProvides Technical Support Service\nAnticipates the need for equipment and supplies.\nSelects equipment and supplies in an organized, cost effective and timely manner.\nAssures all equipment is functioning before use and removes any malfunctioning equipment.\nDemonstrates skill in appropriate use of instruments and equipment.\nOperates mechanical, electrical and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.\nAssures emergency equipment and supplies are available at all times.\nKeeps surgical suites clean, tidy, free of soiled equipment and supplies, and properly stocked.\nAssists with inventory management.\nAssists with preoperative patient preparation and postoperative patient discharge (e.g. changing clothes, providing nourishment).\nAssists with OR turnover and preparation of sterile supplies (e.g. opening, case pulling).\nCleans and restocks anesthesia supplies as assigned.\nWith additional training, may assist the surgical team as a second scrub person.\nFollow decontamination and sterilization per manufacturer instructions and facility policies and procedures.\nMaintains cleaning and sterilization logs per facility policy.\nPerforming other duties as required\nQualifications\n1-3 years of experience\nAbility to work in a surgery center environment with healthcare interactions that include patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease under a moderate level of noise\nMust be able to understand and follow instruction with speed and accuracy\nMust be able to organize and set priority for work to be done\nPossesses manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, attendance, and good interpersonal skills\nSuccessfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam for central service technicians and holds and maintains one of the following, 1) Certified registered central service technician credential or 2) Certified sterile processing and distribution technician credential.
