And it means we prioritize a diverse F5 community where each individual can thrive.\nRole Overview:\nThe Senior Network Engineer designs, builds, and operates secure, reliable, and scalable network services across global data centers, cloud platforms, and F5’s IP backbone, including regulated environments. This engineering-focused role owns network reliability, performance, automation, and complex incident resolution while delivering improvements to routing architectures and connectivity.\nWorking closely with Architecture, Product, Security, Compliance, Build, and Operations teams, the Senior Network Engineer drives initiatives from design through deployment, strengthens operational practices, and mentors engineers. Read on!\nWhat You’ll Do:\nEngineer, build, and operate network solutions supporting global data centers, cloud platforms, and product connectivity.\nOptimize global backbone routing and highly available Layer 3 architectures using BGP, OSPF, routing policies, redundancy, and traffic engineering.\nImplement secure segmentation, boundary controls, and traffic isolation to meet security and compliance requirements.\nDeliver hybrid and cloud-native connectivity across AWS, Azure, and GCP using dedicated interconnects, VPNs, transit gateways, and cloud routing services.\nDevelop and maintain network automation using Python, Ansible/AWX, and Git-driven CI/CD workflows for provisioning, configuration, compliance, and validation.\nOwn day-to-day network availability and performance through proactive monitoring, telemetry, capacity planning, configuration drift detection, and lifecycle management.\nTroubleshoot complex routing, switching, TCP/IP, and connectivity issues; lead or support major incidents in accordance with escalation and reporting procedures.\nExecute changes, upgrades, and migrations using documented methods of procedure (MOPs), approvals, pre- and post-change validation, and tested rollback plans.\nPartner with Security and Compliance teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain secure network software, firmware, and configurations.\nBuild security controls and compliance checks into automated workflows, including least privilege, encryption, logging, evidence collection, and safe rollback.\nValidate network software, routing changes, automation, and security controls in controlled environments before production deployment.\nTranslate product, platform, and regulatory requirements into actionable network designs and delivery plans with clear timelines and dependencies.\nManage vendor escalations, procurement, RMA workflows, and equipment lifecycle; evaluate technologies for resilience, performance, automation, compliance suitability, and cost.\nMaintain accurate architecture and boundary diagrams, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and control documentation to support operations, audits, and continuous monitoring.\nMentor engineers through technical deep dives, structured troubleshooting, design reviews, and post-incident learning while fostering a kind, collaborative team environment.\nWhat You Bring:\nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n10+ years of network engineering experience in large-scale, multi-region, and global routing environments.\nDeep hands-on expertise with BGP and OSPF, including route propagation, routing policy, traffic engineering, ECMP, route reflectors, and multi-vendor interoperability.\nStrong engineering and operational experience with JunOS; experience with Juniper MX, QFX, and SRX platforms preferred.
