You will participate in the design and implementation of our edge computing platform that is used to deploy global, scalable, and secure applications. Your work includes, but is not limited to, API definition, implementation, deployment, operational management, and debugging.\nSounds interesting? Read on!\nWhat You’ll Do:\nManage production environment by monitoring availability and alerts, promptly remediating any issues in the production environment.\nDesign and deliver infrastructure solutions that will help build, deploy, and manage the service components of the platform.\nInvestigate various open-source and proprietary technologies, components, libraries, tools, etc., and help build a highly available, highly scalable, and easily manageable system.\nDemonstrate technical leadership in multiple domain areas, providing mentorship to other team members, as well as partnering with development teams to improve services on an ongoing basis.\nTake responsibility and ownership of F5 Cloud Platform software components, delivering a complete product that meets functional, scale, performance, and manageability requirements.\nWrite clean, efficient code in multiple languages (e.g., Python, Golang) while considering performance, scalability, maintainability, and flexibility. Develop tooling and processes to ensure that the F5 Cloud platform is highly available, scalable, and high-performing.\nRemediate security vulnerabilities in our services and platform on a regular basis, and participate in on-call rotation.\nArchitect and maintain F5’s foundational cloud platform services (for example, infrastructure abstraction, provisioning, and deployment tooling) to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability across the organization.\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines, leveraging tools such as Terraform, Helm to automate provisioning, configuration, and environment orchestration.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams-SREs, application engineers, and QA-to define platform requirements, set best practices, and drive adoption of platform tools that improve the developer experience.\nCreate self-service interfaces and documentation for developers, enabling them to deploy, monitor, and manage applications more easily and securely on the platform.\nDefine platform-level SLOs and SLIs in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring robust performance monitoring and effective capacity planning.\nContinuously evaluate and introduce new technologies and frameworks to enhance the platform’s capabilities-focusing on operational efficiency, cost optimization, and developer productivity.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nBe Kind\nBS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of experience in an SRE/Platform Engineering/DevOps role. \nProven experience designing, building, and managing distributed, highly available systems and network control planes. \nAttention to detail, a “can-do” attitude, and a mindset to raise the bar are a must. \nStrong familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD practices, and automation frameworks. \nDeep understanding of Linux Systems (previous system administrator experience is a plus). \nProficiency in Python or Golang development, including designing and building scalable microservices and tooling. \nHands-on experience with DNS, Security, Virtualization, Containers, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
