As a key member of the Hardware Development Team, you will drive the design of complex electrical subsystems from concept through production release, providing technical leadership, mentoring, and strategic input across projects. This role requires deep expertise in multiple areas of hardware design and the ability to influence architecture decisions, ensure design excellence, and foster innovation.\nKey Responsibilities:\nUphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report violations of the Code or other company policies.\nAct as a technical authority, independently determining methods and procedures for new or complex assignments.\nLead system-level hardware design for new products, including architecture definition, functional specifications, and requirements development.\nCollaborate with architecture teams to define system requirements and author functional specifications for hardware subsystems.\nDrive design for manufacturability, testability, and reliability across all phases of development.\nResearch and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance existing products and guide new product directions.\nOversee and mentor engineers, providing technical guidance and reviewing work to ensure quality and efficiency.\nConduct internal and external technical presentations and disseminate knowledge within the hardware team.\nDevelop and maintain schedules for deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality documentation and testing.\nInterface with suppliers and manufacturing partners for validation and issue resolution.\nAuthor and implement designs for programmable logic devices (CPLDs) using Verilog HDL when required.\nSupport sustaining engineering for legacy products and assist in manufacturing training for new designs.\nParticipate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.\nQualifications:\nRequired:\nUnderstand and comply with F5 internal processes and requirements.\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.\n10+ years of experience in electrical hardware design for high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal systems.\nProficiency with schematic capture and hardware design tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, Mentor Graphics).\nStrong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal considerations.\nProficiency with Verilog HDL programming for CPLD design.\nAdvanced troubleshooting skills at board and system levels.\nExpertise with the following:Intel x86 motherboard design\nhigh-speed interfaces (DDR4/5, PCIe g5, Ethernet 100G/ 400G/ 800G)\nelectrical design for Altera and Xilinx FPGAs\nCPU VR power supply design\nsignal and power integrity\nsystem-level integration.\n\nFamiliarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.\nExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nPreferred:\nExperience with regulatory compliance (UL, CE, FCC) and reliability testing.\nThe Job Description is intended to be a general representation of the responsibilities and requirements of the job.
