Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.\nAbout the Team\nThe materials team owns the physical flow of material from the receiving dock to the production floor. We receive, store, count, kit, and deliver every part that goes into our components, tools, and fabs, and we keep the production floor supplied so builds never wait on material.\nAbout the Role\nThe Inventory Specialist is a hands-on material handling and kitting role. You will receive incoming shipments, put material away, pull and stage kits against the build schedule, deliver parts to the floor, and transact every move in our ERP/MES so the system matches what is physically on the shelf. This is floor-level work: you will be on your feet, moving material, counting parts, and working directly with the technicians and engineers who consume it.\nResponsibilities\nReceive incoming shipments, verify quantities and part numbers against packing slips and POs, and route material for inspection.\n\nPut material away in assigned locations and keep the stockroom, supermarkets, and lineside bins organized and labeled.\n\nPull, stage, and deliver complete kits to production against the build schedule, and flag shortages before they stop a build.\n\nTransact receipts, moves, issues, and returns in our ERP/MES accurately and in real time.\n\nPerform cycle counts, research discrepancies, and correct quantities and locations.\n\nReplenish lineside and point-of-use inventory so technicians have what they need at the bench.\n\nHandle sensitive, cleanroom, and high-value components using the correct packaging, ESD, and material-handling practices.\n\nTrack lot numbers, serial numbers, and part revisions on the material you touch.\n\nPick, pack, and ship outgoing material, including transfers between our Austin and Lockhart sites.\n\nOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and lifts to move material safely.\n\nKeep the receiving dock, stockroom, and shipping areas clean, safe, and audit-ready.\n\nRequired Experience\n1+ years in a stockroom, warehouse, receiving, shipping, or material-handling role.\n\nComfortable reading part numbers, revisions, packing slips, and BOMs, and matching physical parts to paperwork.\n\nCareful, accurate, and consistent with counts, labels, and system transactions.\n\nAble to lift and move material and stay on your feet through a shift.\n\nWilling to learn our ERP/MES and follow standard work.\n\nNice-to-have\nExperience with an ERP, MRP, WMS, or barcode scanning system.\n\nKitting experience against BOMs in a manufacturing environment.\n\nForklift certification.\n\nExperience handling ESD-sensitive, cleanroom, or serialized components.\n\nExperience in semiconductor, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or other complex hardware manufacturing.\n\nWorking at fab2\nWe’re an early-stage hardware startup with solid funding, world-class advisors, and labs/offices in Austin, TX, Lockhart, TX, and San Francisco, CA.\nBenefits: fab2 offers the following benefits, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance\n\nGenerous Paid Time Off inclusive of Holidays and Sick Time\n\nVisa Sponsorship\n\nLife and Disability Insurance\n\nPaid Parental Leave\n\n401(k) retirement plan\n\nWeekly Learning & Development opportunities\n\nCommuter Benefits including Parking and Late Night Uber rides from the office\n\nLunches daily, Dinners 3x per week, Stocked Office Kitchen with Snacks and Spindrifts\n\nWe are an equal-opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability or other legally protected statuses.\nExport Control Analysis: This position involves access to technology that is subject to U.S. export controls.
