Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.\nAbout the role\nYou’ll own execution of construction and buildout projects across our Austin and Lockhart sites, working closely with our facilities and engineering teams to bring new spaces and infrastructure to life. You’ll provide field input as projects are scoped, then lead them through bidding, approvals, construction, and commissioning, delivering on time and on budget. You’ll also handle site logistics, from equipment and vehicle rentals to deliveries and moves, and support the broader team when projects touch live building systems.\nResponsibilities\nOwn delivery of a portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects across Austin and Lockhart, from specialty lab buildouts to utility and electrical upgrades and everything in between\n\nShape project plans alongside facilities and engineering leadership, bringing constructibility, cost, and schedule expertise to inform scope and key decisions\n\nRun competitive bidding and contractor selection, negotiate contracts, and build a trusted bench of general contractors and specialty trades\n\nSet and manage project budgets and schedules, forecasting risk early and reporting status, tradeoffs, and recommendations to the broader team\n\nLead field execution across multiple trades, maintaining quality and safety standards while keeping critical R&D operations running\n\nBuild the processes that scale our project delivery as Fab2 grows, including permitting, contractor onboarding, site safety, and project close-out\n\nServe as a key operational partner across our sites, coordinating logistics, equipment, and cross-team needs to keep facilities running smoothly as we scale\n\nRequired Experience\n5+ years managing commercial, industrial, or lab construction projects, including multi-million dollar projects from bid through close-out\n\nBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field, or equivalent industry experience\n\nProven track record delivering projects on time and on budget while managing multiple contractors and trades at once\n\nFamiliarity with process utilities (LN2, specialty gases, DI water, exhaust) and high-power electrical\n\nStrong command of estimating, contract negotiation, budgeting, and schedule management\n\nAbility to read and interpret architectural, MEP, and structural drawings and specifications\n\nKnowledge of OSHA requirements, permitting, and construction site safety\n\nProficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar tools\n\nValid driver’s license\n\nNice-to-have\nExperience with design-build or fast-track delivery, where construction starts before every detail is finalized\n\nExperience in semiconductor manufacturing industry\n\nWorking at fab2\nWe’re an early-stage hardware startup with solid funding, world-class advisors, and a lab/office in Austin, TX, Lockhart, TX, and San Francisco, CA.\nBenefits: fab2 offers the following benefits, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance\n\nGenerous Paid Time Off inclusive of Holidays and Sick Time\n\nVisa Sponsorship\n\nLife and Disability Insurance\n\nPaid Parental Leave\n\n401(k) retirement plan\n\nWeekly Learning & Development opportunities\n\nCommuter Benefits including Parking and Late Night Uber rides from the office\n\nLunches daily, Dinners 3x per week, Stocked Office Kitchen with Snacks and Spindrifts\n\nWe are an equal-opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability or other legally protected statuses.\nExport Control Analysis: This position involves access to technology that is subject to U.S. export controls.
