We believe in standing together and supporting the people who make our union work every day.\nFor more information about our victories, please visit our website at https://psacunion.ca/\nAbout the role\nUnder the general supervision of the Assistant Director of HR, the HR Program Advisor is responsible for supporting the implementation, coordination and ongoing administration of key human resources programs and initiatives, with a primary focus on the Staff Performance Support and Development Program (SPSDP), succession planning and employee relations.\nWhat we are looking for\nEducation & Experience:\nUniversity degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field.\nAt least 5 years of experience in Human Resources.\nProfessional HR designation (CHRP/CHRL) is considered an asset.\nExperience providing HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.\nExperience supporting performance management, employee development, succession planning or employee relations.\nSkills & Knowledge:\nKnowledge of performance management, employee relations, succession planning and employee development practices.\nStrong advisory, communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to provide practical guidance on performance concerns, coaching, goal setting and employee development.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, coordinate initiatives and meet deadlines.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.\nAbilities:\nAbility to exercise sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.\nAbility to develop practical tools, resources and training to support managers and employees.\nCommitment to fairness, equity, collaboration and continuous improvement.\nWhat you need to know\nSecond language skills as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) will be assessed.
